Character Meet & Greet Poll

Where is the best place to meet characters - taking into consideration lines, length of time spent with characters, and variety, and rarity of the characters. Also, please list below which characters you've seen where. I want to try and get as many characters as possible on my next trip.

Re: Character Meet & Greet Poll

World Showcase seems to have a good variety since they have characters from each corresponding country and the crowds are normally short.

We have seen Beast, Belle, Mushu, Snow White, Brother Bear, Chip n Dale, Goofy, Mulan, Genie, Donald, Mary Poppins, and others at World Showcase with little or no wait.

Character Meals are easy but the characters are limited.

Re: Character Meet & Greet Poll

Character meals at either parks or hotels are the best places to meet characters. You get a good amount of time with each character and don't have to feel rushed or stand in line forever to meet them. I don't have kids, so very rarely will I stand in line at the park to meet a character, but I always schedule at least one character meal on my vacation!

Has anyone ever seen Uncle Scrooge?? It's my dream to meet him. I've only seen him once at DLR but he was all the way across Main Street USA and I couldn't run to him fast enough.

Re: Character Meet & Greet Poll

I voted MGM based on our last vacation. The characters were out in droves, with short/no lines and plenty of fun interaction.

Of course, that may have been a fluke. I would say character dining would be the best chance for a good experience every time.

I always end up seeing the most at MGM by the hat. There is always different ones, so I don't have a list.

I voted for MGM because it has the widest variety of characters. Such as- Jojo and Goliath,Pooh and gang, Villians(only in the Statue Garden), Lilo and Stitch, Sorcerror Mickey, the Fab Five,Mary Poppins, and my favorite street performers!!! They are so funny!!!

Re: Character Meet & Greet Poll

You can see a majority of the major characters and princess at the Judges Tent in Mickey's Toontown Fair.
DD met MM, MM, DD, Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Cinderella.

Also another good Princess event is the Princess storybook breakfast in Epcot.
There was Mulan, Jasmine, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Belle.

Yeah, but the line is horrendous--except for the 100 Acre Woods characters.

We like to do a character meal each trip--good food and no lines.

Re: Character Meet & Greet Poll

I voted for MGM also... The last time we were there the characters were all over... Right at the main entrance, by Mickey's hat and then while we were waiting in line for the Disney Animation tour there was an Entrance and Exit for the Characters and we saw alot of characters... Jafar was there and spent a good five mins with all of us and he kept picking on my DH and taking his baseball hat and then hugging me to see I guess if DH would get upset.

Re: Character Meet & Greet Poll

I agree with Dana...MGM by the hat is a great meet and greet. If you get to Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning the courtyard on Mainstreet (the city hall area) has alot of character signings as well. Toontown has the continuous signings for the pooh characters and Cinderella and the mice in the building. They also have Mickey near his house, and Pluto. We caught Goofy and Max near the roller coaster in toontown also. Hook and Smee are often by Pirates of the Caribbean. We even caught Peter Pan and Wendy last trip over that way (which was a first). Snow White was in adventureland as well. We have caught Chip and Dale several times throughout Magic Kingdom, and Mickey, Mike, Sully, Incredibles, Chip n Dale, Donald, JoJo, Goliath, and others were in MGM.

We had an autograph book that my then 2.5 yr old ds filled in one day. Then in his temper tantrum in adventureland somehow he lost it. We had to go and buy another the next morning and hit Magic Kingdom for a few hours to get more autographs in the new book so he wouldnt be all upset the entire 3 hour drive home. We are pros at hunting down characters..LOL That is my ds favorite thing I think about disney!
