Here's a link to some more pics of Cinderella's Castle makeover. I think it looks great, but I am reserving judgment on that huge "stained glass," which looks kind of gaudy in these photos, doncha think?

Man, I think they over did it this time!!! I loved the concept art but these pics reveal something much more intrusive than I imagined. Look at how they attached the glass frame to the castle. It looks like crap!!!!! I am an enigneer and aesthetics are everything. I would be ashamed of myself if this was the best I could do. This is not what Walt envisioned his castle to look like!!!!!!!

From a distance the castle looks nice but a little busy for my tastes. Jeff your close up scares me---that looks awful!! I hope that gets a touch up, that's pretty bad even for a temporary decoration.

I agree on the close-up. ut I don't like that stained-glass thing anyway. At least not from the pictures....

It doesn't look that bad in person. I took a trip down there to check it out. A lot of people like it. I think there is too much going on, but others enjoy it.

I'm not crazy about the stained glass thing either. Too bad, it detracts from the rest of the effect.

And as for that patchwork....ewww. If workmen left something like that on my house I'd bring them back to fix it.

There's still plenty of time to fix this before the celebration.

The Stained Glass is suppose to change images throughout the day. Still not sure if I like it though.

I think you're right the stained glass is too much. I do really like the statues and everything they put up though, and I do like it much better then when they turned the castle into a cake for the 25th.

I think all the gold decorations are beautiful, but I agree... in the pictures, the stained glass does look a little big and bulky. I'm sure it has a different effect when you see it in person though, so I'm keeping an open mind. :)

Another thought... if they take all this down after the celebration, won't the castle look a little plain?

I agree that the gold fringes are beautiful, but like the old saying goes, less is more. I think they should have stoped at the fringes and scraped the Mirror concept. Or at least, made it smaller. Another cool idea would have been to have a mirror at ground level that when viewed you became a Princess. Think hologram. Not sure how to do this, but I am sure the Imagineers could have came up with something.

That's what I was thinking. But, geez, rlander, you are right. Those patches need to go!! What were they thinking?? But perhaps they will go back and fix that before the official opening.
