"Darth Mickey" & 2005 Star Wars Weekeends Collectibles

The Official Star Wars Site has news today about the varied collectible items to be offered at this year's Star Wars Weekends.
Anyone who remembers the saga of last year's Jedi Mickey will be eager to know that this year, Mickey has turned to the Dark Side! The plush Mickey will be dressed in Darth Vader's garb!

There are some nice posters and pins and coins that will be available during the event, taking place this May and June (2005).

Having just watched my home videos of the past years (I attended all but the first in 1999 and the one in 2003), it makes me want to be there for this one, but I've still a watchful eye on the guestlist. I'm actually trying to limit my WDW-going this year (don't worry, it won't work!).

OMG, I had no idea there was a Jedi Mickey last year! I want one. I want a Darth Mickey too.

I always go to Disney on Memorial Day weekend in May, but my family never goes to MGM then.

Rats. Oh, well, whenever, and if, my family ever gets to go to STAR WARS weekends, I'll be excited to bring a Star Wars Mickey (even if it's not Darth Mickey). Being the great star wars fan I am, someday, I'll go on my own and try everything, Star Wars Weekends has to offer.

I was at the Star Wars weekends in 2003, and my family and I had a real blast! I think the best part was the many photo opportunities with the various Star Wars characters that were roaming throughout the park! Plus the Stormtroopers guarding the main entrance were a nice touch!
My only regret is that we will miss the event this year, as our trip starts on the 30th of June! Oh well, maybe next time!

I just got the quarterly DVC newsletter and they had a picture of Stormtroopers marching in the parade. Very cool!!!

As the long-anticipated and newest Star Wars film (Episode III: Revenge of the Sith) debuts in theaters nationwide May 19, the Walt Disney World Resort will raise the curtain on its month-long celebration of the most famous saga in movie history during the annual Star Wars Weekends at the Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park.

Anyone who's going during SWW want to pick up a Darth Mickey (or 3, 4 or 5?) for me? I'll do just about anything to get my hands on a few of them.

Well, I'll certainly look for any Star Wars weekends merchandise when I go in July, but I'm almost certain that there won't be ant left! Fingers and toes are crossed!

dznygrl, if your puppy is a male, how about "Cooper"? My dog is named Cooper and the name really works! If your puppy is a female, I suggest the name of my favorite Disney icon, "Amelia"!

They even had the Stormtroopers on the roof over the turnstiles as you enter the park. It was so cool. My DS was even followed by one on our last trip. DS was also approached by a non-speaking character (some little thing in a dark brown robe and black covered face....can't remember the name) to trade pins. That was one of the highlights of his trip. We can't wait to go back this year.

I am just going to have to make it down some May to see this. Are the event days very crowded?
