monorail

Hey everybody,
I just got back from spring break down at wdw. The crowds werent too bad, and the weather was awesome. Just wanted to take a sec and ask a question about the monorail. At the end of our day at MK, just after watching wishes, we headed out of the park, with the other millions of people who did the exact same thing :). Well, the line for the monorail to the TTC grew really fast. So my girlfriend and I took one glance at the monorail that took you to the resorts, and the line had almost nobody in it. I guessed that it too probably went to the TTC, and sure enough i was right. One stop at the contemporary, and then on to the TTC where we were parked...we rode pretty much by ourselves, and avoided the long line! It was so great...just wondering if anybody else out there uses this trick

Re: monorail

HA - that was SO not true when we were there last year. and it's not a secret.
We stayed at the Poly last year and my biggest complaint was the monorail lines. There was absolutely no benefit to resort guests when it came to the monorail lines. The were packed every night and 99% of the people got off at the TTC. I hated it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for you that you found it and that it wasn't crowded, but bad for resort guests - one less perk for those who stay there.

Re: monorail

We ALWAYS take the resort loop. it' sa much shorter line and give you a nice view and ride IMO.

And before anyone starts. They don't check for resort ID's

Re: monorail

I guess it depends on when you are there because when we stayed at the Contemporary in 2002, the lines were terrible. We usually walked at the end of the day when the lines for the monorail were unbelievable. Walking was much faster. Of course, it was pretty busy then since it was June.

I use the resort monorail all the time. I have no qualms about doing it.

They were checking IDs two years ago when were there. The CMs were standing at the start of the ramp telling non-resort guests to take the ferry or the TTC monorail.

Did you have to be staying at a monorail resort or just on WDW in any resort.
