Re: some questions

Welcome to DC! Most likely, any question you have, someone has the answer. Ask away, don't be shy!!

As others have stated, The Unofficial Guide to WDW is a great source of information. The Passporter is also another great resource. I read both and use the Passporter for our trip. It has worksheets, pockets, etc.

Also, if you have any idea of where you are going to have some fun or special meals within the World, you should make your PS' right away. June can be a busy month since everyone is either getting out of school or are out already.

Last, have fun planning!!!!

Re: some questions

I'd like to welcome you to DC as well!

My family and I used Mears back in 2003, and they were pretty good! We just didn't like having to wait! We wanted to get to the parks asap!! You should most difinately change over to the special Disney service that is being offered as of May 5th! If you are staying at a Disney resort, this should already be included! I would check with your resort and change it if it is not already set up!
We just checked with our resort this past Saturday to see if the service is included with our trip this June/July, and we were told that it indeed was part of the package!

Wow thank you all so much for the info. I forget who told me what but I will definitely get the UNofficial guide. I borrowed an official guide from someone and it does have all these pretty pictures ect. in it that makes WDW sound so great (which i'm sure it is) but I need the real inside info. I'm thinking of more questions as I type so expect to hear form me often. Thanks again!!!!

Disneyfever is saying what many of us will agree with, Chef Mickey's is a don't miss!
I haven't done the Chef Mickey's thing. Would you say it's still a "don't miss" if you don't have kids? Or is it fun for everyone?

Re: some questions

Welcome to DC!!! I answered a question on your other thread and completely forgot to say that, so I'm saying it now.

As for any other info, I've used Mears and had no problem with it, but the new Magical Express sounds more fun! Also, although I've never stayed at Pop Century, I did visit it and ate in the food court, hung out at the 60's pool and did some exploring. I think it would be great, espically if you're travelling with children. Have a great trip and give us a trip report when you get back.

Again, welcome to DC

Re: some questions

I agree with using the Disney Magic Transfer option. I used the Mears bus method March of 2003 and it took me 3 & 1/2 hrs. from landing at MCO to my resort AKL. The bus ended up making 3 trips around the terminal, picking up other passengers from other airlines, before fianlly leaving for the resorts. Then after all of that, The AKL was the last resort for drop off. In January 05, I used Tiffany Town Car (as I did in Oct 03), much happier. I would definitely have sued the Magic Way if it had been available. NOT HAVING TO CARRY MY LUGGAGE ALONE WOULD BE A DREAM.

It depends on the individual. Tons of people go without children and have a great time. Others prefer to leave it to the families with kids. If you're really into meeting the characters, this is the ideal place to do it. Chef Mickey's would probably be the "wildest" character meal. Be prepared for a lot of noise and fun. If you'd like to try a character meal that isn't quite as wild, Liberty Tree Tavern or 1900 Park Fare Lane are good options.

Re: some questions

concerning the books mentioned about WDW, before you purchase them, go to your local Library and see if they have the newest edition. I did before my last two trips and it was very useful without putting out any extra $$ which can be better used at Disney!
