What do you do about keeping your shoes dry on the water rides? We'll be doing so much walking that we'll need to wear good walking shoes. I have cheap rain ponchos to keep our clothes semi-dry but I don't want to walk around in wet sneakers the rest of the day. I can pack flip flops but prefer not to lug them around all day and the lockers appear to all be at the front of the parks. Any ideas?

Re: Shoe Dilemma
I wear flip flops every day in the parks. To me they are much more comfortable than sneakers, and I agree, who wants to walk around in wet shoes all day?

Re: Shoe Dilemma
We normally just go on the rides and keep our fingers crossed that our sneaks don't get too wet. Sandals or flip flops give us blisters.
The only ride I can think of that you can put your sneaks away is KRR in AK. Otherwise we hope for the best.

Re: Shoe Dilemma
I have several pairs of "Bite" brand sandals. They are awesome. They dry in no time at all and are very comfortable. I wear them year round (they do well in snow but not ice) and even have a pair that are made for hiking through trails. I would recomend them to anyone.

Re: Shoe Dilemma
You can always carry a grocery bag in your fanny pack or pocket and just slip them on over your shoes once you are seated.
For safety reasons, KRR will not allow you to take your shoes off when riding. (I'm not sure how flip flops are safer but anyways...)

Re: Shoe Dilemma
We have a local person who invented a shoe called the Croc!! They are unbelieveable!! I have plantar faciities(sp?) my heel hurts all the time but these make my heel feel good and I can wear these all the time. They were actually invented for boaters!! They are all the rage here in Colorado and slowly making their way across the nation.
You can wear them with or without socks and they have air vents so they can get wet too!! They recently came out with a sandal too!! Check out the website!! www.crocs.com

Re: Shoe Dilemma
I forgot to mention he is extremely difficult to buy shoes for. He hates, hates ,hates socks and I hate, hate, hate flip flops because they always give us blisters!

Re: Shoe Dilemma
I always save the wet rides for last. That way if I get soaked, I will only be a bit sogging for a short time. Another alternative is to have water shoes or flip flops for everyone. Kepp them in a locker and use them as needed.

Re: Shoe Dilemma
Bring water shoes just for the water rides. But with the Florida weather in the Summer, your bound to get soaked one way or another!! Especially at AK, it seems to flood there more, more dips in the walk and more leaves I think.

Re: Shoe Dilemma
We really have never had the wet shoe problem at Disney. I wouldn't even bother going on KRR again. What a waste!
We do however, have it at IOA. That's when we carry flip flops in a backpack. We do all the wet rides at once and then try to dry off.

Re: Shoe Dilemma
We love that ride, as long as there is no long wait!! I love the line area, with all the temple ruins.

Re: Shoe Dilemma
I love this site! I post a question, go away for a couple of hours and come back to lots of great answers! I've seen the Crocs before. A friend of mine got some for gardening and wears them all the time. Unfortunatley, we're leaving in a week so I'm stuck with what's in our closet. Since we haven't built up our summer feet yet, we won't be able to manage walking around in flip flops all day. (That and my husband has this thing about the kid wearing sneakers all the time. Just because they are more comfortable for him, he assumes they are for everyone!) I guess I'll back pack the flip flops and switch into them. I thought about putting plastic grocery bags over our feet but I just laugh thinking about how queer we will look! I'm pretty sure you wouldn't catch my husband and kids dead in them!
