Waking Tinkerbell

I understand that the first child into the Tinkerbell Treasure store gets to wake Tinkerbell. I would love for my daughter to do this but I'm guessing that a lot of little girls would love this and all dash to the store. We are only going to MK early one day. Is it worth trying to get to the store or head right for say Splash Mountain. Has anyone woke up Tinkerbell? So many choices.

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

I didn't know about the waking up....but I have been in the store and saw Tink's path illuminated on the walls. On another note- If you want a memorable moment for your daughter why not try to be in the front row of Belle's Storytime. It's in a nearly hidden alcove on the right side of the castle. The cast members there select about 6 or 7 kids to help onstage with the story re-enactment. My daughter will long remember being chosen to play Mrs. Potts on stage with about 6 other kids. They give them little velcro costumes to put on, and all the kids get to take a bow at the end of the story, then Belle hangs around afterward for autographs and pictures.

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

If my DD5 doesn't get to wake up Tinkerbell, we'll be sure to do that. That sounds like a lot of fun!

I wonder if anyone has tips about waking up Tinkerbell... I mean is it THAT well known? I'm going on my birthday and I'll have my Tinkerbell shirt on and she wants to wear her Tinkerbell costume that day, so it'd be a shame if she wasn't first. If it were possible, I'd just make PS reservations for an early breakfast in the castle but Im sure they're impossible to get now, and we really can't afford to do breakfast that morning. *sigh*

I'd feel silly trying to be first at the turnstiles and RUNNING with her down Main Street to get to Tinkerbell's Treasures...

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

Just a thought--When you stop in City Hall to get you birthday button, ask the cast member if they could call ahead to the Tinkerbell store, and let you two open it up? In all my trips since 1975 this is the first I've heard of this, so I doubt-that it's well known to everybody. You could also be at the end of Main St. and wait for the rope drop to Fantasyland and try to run through the castle to be first.

I WISH!!! That would be GREAT! I doubt that's possible though, but I'd love to hear from other seasoned people to see if that's possible.

I'm going at a relatively slow time of the year (before Memorial Day) but AM going on a Monday which people say is the busiest day of the week, so that slows my chances. I'm all for hearing the best strategies.

If I'm not mistaken, they don't drop the rope at the end of Main Street, they do it at the beginning, before the turnstiles. It's been a couple of years and I'm old so I forget the procedure. Maybe someone can correct me on this?

My info is a little outdated......haven't been since Septemeber 2003...but when we were there, they dropped the "rope" at each of the entrances to the lands. On different days, we waited at both Frontierland and Adventureland (for our dashes to Splash Mtn), and each land had its own rope with its own CMs to "drop" it. They did it after Minnie Mouse made an announcement over the loudspeakers. I don't know if they still do it that way, but...that's how they did it when we were there!

Okay maybe I missed it, because usually when we get into the park, the first thing we do are the gaggle of characters in Town Square.

So if I'm to assume correctly, we get there early (we were thinking 8:30, maybe earlier?), get through the turnstiles, and run to the end of MainStreet and wait for their rope to drop so we take off around the Hub, through the Castle and to Tinkerbell's shop?

*scratching my head*

Man I confuse way too easily.

I wish I could remember more vividly...because it's all a little fuzzy...but I know for a fact that they let us in a few minutes before the official opening time, and gave us time to get down to the hub before they made the announcement over the loudspeakers and "dropped the rope." THAT was the "official" opening of the park.

So if you're waiting in front of the castle, you should have no problem dashing right to Tinkerbell's Treasures!

But someone please correct me if they don't do it this way anymore...we went in the off-season (September) two years in a row, and they always opened the MK this way.

It's not well known to people who don't research (and that's most people) but I have read about it on every Disney Forum so info is out there. From what I have read the best way to get there first is to have the first PS at CRT and get in and out and be waiting at the castle when the park opens.

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

Are the rope drops you all are talking about after the grand opening outside of the train station. I went to see that opening which was at 9:00am but I didn't go into the park after it so I don't know if there were ropes inside?

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

Didn't Stusbabydoll try to do this, but didn't get there in time? (She was RIGHT behind whoever got to do it)

It's in her trip report, Dementia. If you look it up, maybe you can see what she did (or didn't do) to get there.

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

Has anyone woken up tinkerbell? I also heard you can see her if you look through a keyhole in a dresser drawer. Sounds neat. I'm gonna try it when I go in June.

Seriously though, I think ( if this is true ) that it's a wonderful idea and my DD would just love to wake Tink. Anything is possible at WDW so fingers crossed.

Re: Waking Tinkerbell

My DD got to wake up Tink in February!! We had the first PS (8:05) at the Castle and then went right down to wait for the rope drop at the castle...she dashed into Tinkerbell's Treasures and wha la, woke up Tink! I think the key is to already be in the castle and waiting! After she wakes her up, they will give her a certificate and stickers! It was fun!
