Icon2 How to celebrate a Birthday in WDW?

We are staying at FW this summer for a month and while we are there I will be having my bithday and my daughters as well. My DD will be turning 3 and everytime you mention "birthday" she goes on and on about WDW, candles, cake and presents. Besides going to TH to get the pin what else can we do to make this special for her. We are going to get her a T-shirt from DisneyDirect.com for her B-Day. Is there a special carriage ride, boat ride???? Help

Re: How to celebrate a Birthday in WDW?

As long as you have the pin and are sure to remind CMs at restaurants that you have a birthday in your party, they should take care of the rest. Specific cool things are:

- Book a birthday fireworks cruise: These go fast and you have to book them 90 days out. You can book for either Wishes or Illuminations, and the birthday option costs a bit more than the non-birthday option (includes a cake, soft drinks, and decorations). This might be a bit to "adult" for your 3-yr-old to enjoy, but we loved it last year.

- Tell the CMs at check-in the day of your daughter's birthday and her favorite character. Chances are good that an autographed birthday card from her favorite pal will show up in your room (tent?? ;) ) for free on the special day!

- Get the birthday pins from all of the parks (free at Guest Relations).

- Be sure CMs at restaurants know it's her birthday -- she should get a free cupcake or sundae at the end of the meal.

- Have the Disney florist put together a fun balloon-o-gram for your daughter to be sent to your room on her birthday (www.disneyflorist.com).

- Do the special princess tea party at the Grand Floridian with her on her birthday!

- If you really want a special day, call Gifts of a Lifetime (www.giftsofalifetime.com) to set up a fantastic day full of fun disney treats for your daughter.

Re: How to celebrate a Birthday in WDW?

Let a CM know it's her birthday. They'll call up Goofy and he'll give her a big happy birthday. :)

Re: How to celebrate a Birthday in WDW?

It will be my DD b-day when we are in WDW and we have our ps's for dinner w/ Cinderella. I have a personalized t-shirt that says "Birthday Princess" already. She is turning 7 and totally intends to let everyone know it is her birthday. I just need to call the bakery # so we can have a cake at dinner for her.
