Animal Kingdom Park advice

Hey all

We've been to AK twice, but feel we've really missed the boat on this park the past two years.

Manily we've never seen any of the show here execpt for It's tough to be a bug.

Anyone care to give me a plan for this park?

We really want to do The Safari,Tough to be a bug, The Jungle Treck, Dinosaur, Tarzan rocks, The River rapids, Flights of Woner, Pocohontas, Oh and that other show that is near Pocohontas?
The train to Rafikis Planet watch....those are the main ones

Myself, DW and DS 4

We can arrive by 9 am and have a 10:10 PS @ Resturantosauras.

Thanks!!

Don't forget Festival of the Lion King!

And go straight to Killamanjaro Safari - the animals are out first thing in the AM.

Re: Animal Kingdom Park advice

Definitely don't miss Festival of the Lion King-it is great. The safari is not to be missed, it is the best part of AK, IMHO. The rainforest cafe is a fun place to eat, or try Donald'd Breakfastsaurus. If you plan on riding Kali Rapids, save it for last unless you want to be soaked down to your drawers for the rest of the day!

Buzz -
I would be on hand for the park opening and head straight for the Safari. After the Safari, try and do it's tough to be a bug on your way back round to get to Donald's. Hit any attraction along your walk with little or no wait. Have breakfast and decide which shows you want to see first. Check the times in the handout they give you at the front and work it from there. Definately try and get some attractions in before your breakfast.

ANGIE! I saw my picture in your avatar and thought "I don't remember posting here!"

Anyway, you said what I was going to say "Lion King."

Last trip, the kids were exhausted our last day. We drove over to AK watched Festival of the Lion King and then headed back to Illinois. It's a don't miss.

I would also say The Lion King show is the best! I also love the Bug show. Your son will love the boneyard as a place to run free.

Re: Animal Kingdom Park advice

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

A few more questions:

With an arival at 9 am and a 10:10 PS, and if the waits are too long for ITTBAB and The Safari before our PS, should I have a few others in mind to go straight to?

After our PS, I could sure use some advice on how to work our fastpasses in order to be able to see everything else we want to do.

Unless, I am just planning to much for this park all in one day, think?

Thanks!!!

Re: Animal Kingdom Park advice

Buzz...
*The Festival of the Lion King is Broadway-quality entertainment, and when they say there are no bad seats, they mean it! If there is a crowd waiting, go ahead and wait... the theater holds about a billion people.
*Also, Kilimanjaro Safaris is best in the morning. We go first, then FP it to go again after a nice cinnamon roll at Tusker House (also amazing!)
*The Maharajah Jungle Trek is often overlooked, but memorable!
*We love the thrill rides: Dinosaur, Kali River Rapids, Triceratop Twirl... but we also love to hunt for the Vine Lady (Have you seen her yet? Unbelievable!)
*opening soon: Expedition Everest... look for me in line!!!

Here's my humble opinion... :)

If the park opens at 9 and you head straight for the safari, you should have no problem getting on without much of a wait. I've never tried ITTBAB when the park opens - we always go straight to the safari to make sure we get to see some animals. If you think the waits are too long, you could get a fastpass and walk one of the trails while you wait for your PS.

If you're staying in the AK all day, you should be able to get fastpasses for everything you want to do. We usually go there a half day, and we still manage to do everything we want with fastpasses.

I don't think so. AK has a lot to see and do, but I think if you give a whole day you can see it all!

Hope this helped a little. :)

Re: Animal Kingdom Park advice

The first thing we do is get a Fastpass for the Bug movie, then go straight to the Safari! Don't miss Lion King ;as everyone said;it is the best thing in the park. If you have time at the end of the day, try the train that goes to Conservation Station. I love the audio feature they have there on the Rainforest.

We like Donald's much better too, and I think you will be fine heading for the safari's first thing and then back to breakfast. Tough to be a bug is a toss up for us, it scared my oldest when he was 4, and my now four year old was scared this past Dec. So keep that in mind. It is a cute show, but some kids do find it intense.
