annual vs seasonal passes

Hi,

I was discussing discount programs with a friend of mine and he asked what the difference is between an Annual Pass and a Seasonal Pass. He saw this on MouseSavers.com

What is the difference between these. Actually, I've seen this and never gave it a second thought as I've always had an Annual Pass???

Seasonal passes black you out of WDW for a significant portion of the year(Dec.20th or thereabouts til after New Year's,3 weeks around Easter and June through August something). Also,you have to pay for parking with a Seasonal pass. With the annual,you can go every day of the year plus parking is free. The extra hundred or so dollars is totally worth it for me.

And, I don't know where you live Frank, but the SP is only available to Florida residents. For us the SP works great since we live in FL, but over 6 hours from Disney! :-)

We have a residence in Florida. We have AP's. We are in St. Petes which is 80 minutes away. We love it. The cost of a Florida AP is pretty reasonable too.

I think it's definitely worth the extra money for APs because of the free parking and the room/dining discounts. Just my opinion

I agree 100 % Empress Jenny. Especially if you live in FLorida. If you are close, you can even go over for the day, which we have done from St. Pete's. There have been days when it was cool or cloudy and my wife and I just hopped over for a day trip to Disney. I love it. Having the AP makes all the difference.

We have Seasonal Passes and love them. Although the Blackout periods are annoying they are during times that we probably wouldn't go anyway. As for the Discounts, I have always received the same discounts that Annual Passholders get. The only setback is paying for parking and the difference in cost for the 5 we have (2 adult and 3 children) is too much so we pay to park.

Do you mean the Annual Pass? The APs were about $670 for both me and Pete together.

I agree with you that blackout periods are extremely busy and it's not much fun to be there, but since we live in FL and are going to have frequent visitors from up north who are going to want to go to WDW regardless of the time of year, APs were sort of a must for us.

We paid just under $900.00 for our 5 passes.

Adult - $195.67
Child - $165.69

I am not sure what the AP was but EmpressJenny said the adults were about $335.00 each versus about $200.00 each. That pays for allot of parking.
I wish we coudl get the premium passes but with a big family made us choose this option.

You still get the room discounts with the SP, not sure what dining discounts you mean but we bought the DDE card so that works out well for us. Parking is no biggie as we live so far we stay on property.

You get some dining discounts with the AP. I didn't know that you could get the same room discounts with the SP as with the AP.

SP's come with their own little booklet of discounts too. The discounts probably aren't as good as the ones from AP's, but SP's do get some on dining and shopping and all that.
