Trip with Friends
Ok...so most of you know that I just got back from an 8 day WDW vacation with my DH and DS. It was a blast...and NOW I'm planning a Labor Day weekend trip with some of my friends (mostly co-workers...just the ones I like!)...I've never "done Disney" with just grown-ups!! So I need help from my DC friends!!!
I know we'll hit Pleasure Island - but what other ideas or planning tips can you give to someone who's only Disney experiences as an adult have been with a little one in tow? We're planning to stay Friday-Monday (most likely at a Value), will probably do one nice dinner...I'm SOO excited about this "friends" trip...and I'm ready to start planning!!! TIA for all your "grown up" fun ideas!! Allyson

Re: Trip with Friends
Cool! That will be fun! I think the only thing I would do differently is look in more of the shops and maybe really do world showcase - although I think I might get bored there myself. I would ride the same rides as I do with my ds as thankfully he does not want to ride Dumbo and the Speedway anyway.
Have fun!

Re: Trip with Friends
What about a nice dinner at the Boardwalk and then going to Jellyrolls after dinner? It's a sing-along bar, with dueling piano players who take requests. There is a cover and you have to be 21 to get in.

Re: Trip with Friends
I think Disney without kids is such a blast!! You are going to just love it!! I have to recommend Pleasure Island one night. Start out at the Comedy Club, then be sure to catch some skits at the Adventurer's Club!! You will laugh and have fun all night long - not to mention dance the night away, if you wish!! Have a great time!!
(Finally, my 1,000th post! )

Re: Trip with Friends
You're going to have a blast at WDW with just your friends! You'll find that you're free to do alot more of the things that you enjoy and not have to worry about keeping a little one happy. I would definitely recommend a night on the town at Pleasure Island along with more sit-down meals. I'd also suggest spending some time exlporing the World Showcase (something that families with childen rarely get to do becuase the children turn
and lol), it's my favorite thing to do at WDW! Have fun planning!Joe ![]()

Re: Trip with Friends
Allyson,
You and your pals are going to have a great time! I did a girls only trip with four of my best friends from high school just before two of them got married. We had an AMAZING time. Some of our favorite things: - Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk - I second the recommendation someone already gave you to go here, we LOVED it so much that we went twice. - Dinner at California Grill - we got a little dressed up and headed over there with a PS that had us there during Wishes. It was great. We had yummy food, great service and an amazing view of Wishes. - "Tired Leg" Massages at the Grand Floridian Spa. We did this on our last morning before heading to the airport and it was AMAZING and not terribly expensive. It was a great "girls only" activity. - The day of our dinner at California Grill, we skipped the parks and had a day of shopping at Downtown Disney, complete with lunch at Wolfgang Puck's express, which was tasty and reasonable and then milkshakes at Ghiradelli Soda Fountain. - Breakfast at Boma. We took our time and tried everything and then walked around outside and enjoyed the animals. Some other things you might want to consider - -Tea at the Grand Floridian, I did this on a trip I took with my mom and it was really nice. - A side trip to Celebration. We did this on our way to the airport, it was neat to see the "Disney" town. Whatever you do, you will definitely have a great time! I am jealous. My friends and I have a plan to go back to WDW again 7 years from our first trip because we had so much fun! Karen
