DISNEY MAGAZINE shut down..

If this is old news I apologize, but I received my "summer 2005" issue of Disney Magazine today, and am stunned to learn that they are ceasing publication of this amazing magazine, effective immediately. I am stunned and saddened at this decision. If you subscribe, you can choose to continue with Family Fun or Disney Adventures magazine, which I will not be doing. If anybody has any infor on this I would appreciate it, I need to know who to call and gripe to!

Sad but true. There are a couple of threads around here about it.

You got the summer 2005 issue. I haven't got that one yet. I hope I get it soon, so I can call and complain and get my money for the 4 year subscription I have back!!!!

Just got it today.....it has a "wrap around" cover,,,with the magazine inside. It appears to be a rather sudden decision, as ther is no mention of it that I can see in the magazine itself. I am.......angry!

Re: DISNEY MAGAZINE shut down..

I only bought a year's subscription and just love the magazine! I at first thought of asking for the remaining money back, but I'll get the Disney Adventures magazine instead for my 8 yr. old. A little Disney is better than No Disney at all! Who knows, once the new regime is in place (after Eisner) they may institute a whole new magazine!

Ugh, so sad that this has actually happened. I really loved getting this magazine! Gave me a little Disney fix between trips!

Re: DISNEY MAGAZINE shut down..

How upsetting!!! I have gotten this magazine since the VERY begining - when it was just a newsletter from the Magic Kingdom Club! I can not believe that this magazine did not make money! I guess it's just another example of something else the Disney Co. mismanaged (like the Disney Store).

Re: DISNEY MAGAZINE shut down..

Well that stinks!

I am not happy about this one bit. I love this magazine and read it cover to cover. I realize that there is a need to innovate and grow but does Disney have to constantly change everything?

Sometimes I think they change just for the sake of changing!!

Re: DISNEY MAGAZINE shut down..

I'm saddened by the passing of Disney Magazine. What a wonderful vehicle to promote Disney and keep people tied into WD.

I'm dismayed at the trend to market only to kids. As an adult (without children) I'm starting to feel forgotten...

I hope Mr Iger remembers that Disney is a family entertainment company not a children's entertainment company.

Yeah, Tigger, and you aren't the only one. We have alot of people on this site who enjoy Disney and don't have children. They don't need to turn their backs on your demographic...you guys have boatloads of cash to spend on vacations - no college tuition to worry about one day!

Cash?!?! is that what it is about! I thought it was just good clean fun and entertainment

(I have a friend who went to Disney once and said they won't go back...compared it to a vacuum cleaner in his bank account )

Re: DISNEY MAGAZINE shut down..

I recieved my summer issue too and found out about this .. it really makes me feel so sad. another wonderful bit of Disney snatched from me. We already get the Disney Adventures and it has become less and less fun ..more and more advertisments.
