IASW Makeover

Who's been on the new and improved IASW?

What did they do? what's different?

Is it still scary?

Re: IASW Makeover

It's still scary!! The colors seemed brighter and the whole thing was a smidge bit less garish, but IASW is still a once-a-trip thing for me!

I still don't like the concept of that "all white" room at the end. It makes me feel like all the dolls have died and are now in doll heaven. Weird.

We went and weren't scared at all LOL

It really looked very much the same to be, just newer and brighter.

Re: IASW Makeover

We think IASW has been greatly improved. The loading/unloading area is compleletly new, with the all-white scerney, the huge clock (reminds me of "Grandfather Clock" on Captain Kangaroo). You now exit you boat and then go up a ramp, around the back of the new props and then out. It's obvious they've clean up, painted up and added a few different "kids" to the fesitivties. IASW isn't my fave by a long shot, but DW loves it and I do think it's better than before (although I DID see a few portions of carpet that looked ratty on some scenes.

That sums up what I think too...we rode it twice in early May (once with Peter Pan & Wendy!! -- see my TR!!)

I could tell the loading/unloading area were different and when we rode it the second time Wendy pointed out some of the new additions/changes...withouth her I probably wouldn't have noticed, but it had been awhile since I'd ridden the old version.

Re: IASW Makeover

We went on it. I liked the way they made it fresh and newer. DS(6) did not want to go on it.....he thought it was too girlie. He sang in a funny high-pitch fake voice "iiiiiits a smaaaaaal world aaaaaafter allllllll....." before we went on, while stomping his feet (he was quite a sight, lol) But he changed his tune when we were on it. After we were done he kept asking when we could go back on it!!!

Re: IASW Makeover

I loved the clock in the beginning...and it is still scary...I was a little upset to see they got rid of the unhappy clown in the hot air balloon, but it was certainly brighter!

Re: IASW Makeover

The dolls are just a lot shinier, especially their teeth.

A couple trips ago I selflessly volunteered to skip IASW to get FPs for my family, and when they didn't show up after a long time, I KNEW that those dolls had eaten them.

Oh sure.. joke about it.

So tell me... have any of your group been acting a little..."unusual" since riding it?

I'm thinking like something from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"

I am with you. They look like they are hiding little knives behind their back that they are going to kill you with at an given moment. I got out of going on this in January due to the rehab, but there is no way my DD will let me skip it in October....on Halloween

I've always liked it. My brother, on the other hand, screamed the entire way through it about 7 years ago - to the point that he was hoarse for a few hours afterward and fell asleep from a headache. He hasn't been on it since.
We're definately hitting the revamped version on our next trip. He's 12 now, so he'll be fine this time. Hopefully.
