Adieu Mr. Monorail

The friendly voice of Mr. Monorail on the WDW monorail is no more. No vacation was complete without listening to "On behalf of the cast of the WDW Resort we'd like to welcome you to the MK!". Kind Mr. Monorail was the first impression of WDW that everyone had. And now he's been replaced with some turkey who doesn't even have the finesse or gusto that his predecessor had. In fact compared to Mr. Monorail he sounds a bit brusque. The worst part is that they have Stitch on the monorail voice over! Stitch is going through some major overkill!!! I can completely understand Mickey, Donald, Goofy, or Pooh BUT NOT STITCH!!! Maybe I just miss Alien Encounter. I don't know. I

Re: Adieu Mr. Monorail

They will replace Stitch sooner or later. He is just the popular character right now with the kids. I thought the stitch thing was cute as did many of the little ones on the monorail with us on our trip.

Re: Adieu Mr. Monorail

I liked the old voice on the monorail. Not so sure about Stitch though...

Hope the original comes back before my trip in December, we can only hope.

I hate Stitch. Always have. Maybe if enough people complain, they'll bring the old guy back.

Re: Adieu Mr. Monorail

Mr. Monorail has been gone for quite some time. I remember hearing about that like in December or Janurary. It is a sad thing though and Stitch is just so annoying. I am not a fan of the movie at all. Why not take a movie that is more widely popular and make it your centerpiece?

Re: Adieu Mr. Monorail

It's been some time since any original Jack Wagner monologues were heard on the monorails. Very sad. At least we still hear his classic "Please stand clear of the doors--Por favor, mantenganse allejado de las puertas." It was running during our trip last weekend.

A nice webpage with all of the monorail monologues by Jack Wagner is here:

The Stitch voice over would be cute IF he wasn't every where being "cute."

Re: Adieu Mr. Monorail

I had heard that Jack Wagner passed away and his son was taking over?? Not sure how true that is or not. I think he even did the voice on the tram at the Orlando Int Airport. Sad to see another Disney staple changed.

I'll just be glad to get on the Disney World Monorail again!

That is still my favorite ride in any of the parks, especially riding in the front to Epcot!

Ehhh. I'd rather hear the old guy. I saw L&S once - couldn't stand it. I don't like Lilo either, if it helps.

I'm so sad that he's gone. Hearing his voice was, like, the highlight of my trips! Always gave me goosebumps and made me so happy I could cry...

*Sigh*

Re: Adieu Mr. Monorail

I did a thread on this exact same subject and everyone thought I was hallucinating when I said that the monorail voice had changed! In this thread, however, which darbyogill stole the idea from me for, everyone says they noticed it!
Just kidding, everyone, I don't mind. I know darbyogill didn't know my thread existed. I just don't know how the people in my thread couldn't notice such a change.
