Last week of August crowds

What are the cowds like for the last week of August? It's value season....so are the crowds smaller?

I like to go for the last weekend of Aug...it's near my birthday:) Except for Labor Day weekend(which is in Sept this year), its not bad at all. The Tom Joyner family reunoin is/was held during Labor Day weekend, but they canceled that last year b/c of the storms. I am not sure if they are having it this year. If they are then avoid CSR.... thats where the people stay.

Oh yeah. More like the last 2 weeks of August. Most of the southern schools are back in session by then. Lots of people choose that time for their trip just to avoid the summer crowds.

I'd think Labor Day weekend would be the exception though.

We usually go around mid-August because the locals are back in school. There is usually less of a crowd.

I was going to try and change my trip to take advantage of the free dining, but it's not going to happen. I had the last week of August open, but found out I have inventory for my store on 9/2....my boss would wet himself from laughter and think I was insane if I asked for vacation then...lol oh well October it is.

Have you thought about going at the end of Sept? It's still value season (cheeper rooms!) and the free dining thing runs till Oct 4. I am a bit biased b/c that's when we are going this year, lol..... and you could even still go to MNSSHP if you stay thru Sept 30 or Oct 2.

I was there last year the last week of August, first week of September (before Labor Day) and it was dead. It was between hurricanes, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but we walked right on everything.

It crossed my mind, but I am just going to keep it as is. I don't want to take DD out of school after being back for only a few full weeks. I mine as well wait now. The last week of August would have been perfect timing, but oh well...not going to work out. I left messages on the mousketrips answering and emails about the switch and then had to call back and say forget it. Keith must think I'm insane...well he probally had an idea and now just has confirmation on it..lol

I am going at the end of Aug this year and I went at the end of Aug in 2003 and the crowds were extremely good, alot of walk ons... I was in the middle of all that madness Spring Break this year, but thanks to planning EMH and fast passes we did everything we wanted to do and more...
