Sept. Vs. Nov
Our family is thinking of taking a week trip to in the end Oct. Leaving Oct. 29. for a week. How are crowds around Halloween. I know MNSSHP is pretty packed on Halloween , but what about the rest of the parks that time of year?
But now with the MYW dinning plan we are thinking of going at the end of September into October, so we can go the MNSSHP. And take advantage of the free dinnig plan. So my questions are if you were plannig a trip, what do you think would be the better time? The two most important factors are crowd levels and heat. ( we have a 5 year old DD and 5 month old DS.( Do not want it to be too hot for him) Also we will be doing a lot of Baby swaps so low crowd levels are important. My uncle and his family are plannig a trip and invited us along- my husband said yes! So we are going! We will stay at the WL. I was pretty surprised he said yes, because we are taking a girls only trip in December! Thanks for your ideas! ![]() Last edited by KarenT; 06-13-2005 at 11:02 AM. |

Re: Sept. Vs. Nov
I think the crowd levels will be comparable both times of year. The entire month of October is very manageable.
To me, the big differentiator would be the weather. Orlando can still be very uncomfortable in early October AND the hurricane season is supposed to be quite strong this year. I'd go with November.

Re: Sept. Vs. Nov
OK, with Crowd levels leading the way, on importance, I would say you should go in Sept. . I believe Value season ends Oct. 4 or 5 this year. Sept. is a great time to go. We love it then. The crowd level is lower then than it will be in late Oct. It is still quite warm enough to swim, but not overwhelming hot. Cools down nicely in the evenings.

Matt's right about the hurricanes, but I'd still go in September. It's my favorite time to go.

Re: Sept. Vs. Nov
Thanks for the advice, we are still not sure of dates, we have a few things to plan around like, football season ( DH is a coach for pee wee football) and cousins work schedules. Just trying to decide what time of year would be better. We want to be there for a MNSSHP because DD wants to see Goofy in his Halloween costume! So either an early MNSSHP or a late in October one.

Re: Sept. Vs. Nov
Also, I think if you go in September you may get the dining plan free deal, but not at the end of October. I could be wrong though.

Re: Sept. Vs. Nov
I have been there at the end of Sept. and it was HOT!! We have been going the last few years in the second week of November, this year its 11/8-11/15, the weather is always nice, ride lines are fairly short, maybe 30 mins wait on average, obviously some rides ar elonger, some are shorter. We always go during Super Soap Weekend, so on 11/12 and 11/13 Disney Studios will be packed!!
As for rain we have had rain but its those short storms, we did have an extended rain a couple years ago, I think it lasted 2-3 hours.

Re: Sept. Vs. Nov
we were there two years ago in mid September and it was very hot!!! It was 96 one day at noon when we got into our car to go back to the room for a nap. Way too hot for a little one!!!! Last year we were there in October and the weather was much better- we were fortunate enough to miss hurricane season. Have a great trip!!!
