"New Years" celebration

Out of all the times we've been to WDW - we have never been at Pleasure Island at exactly midnight when they celebrate their nightly New Years Eve event. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? More than likely we'll be at Downtown Disney one night next month - so I'd like to experience it. :) If I don't fall asleep first! :weird:

It's neat. I have experienced it both on Pleasure Island, and at the West Side.
In my opinion, the PI celebration is a little corny. The band is okay. They countdown to midnight, send off fireworks and have confetti flying through the air.
It is actually much nicer, more peaceful and special if you can watch it from the West Side. We found a nice little spot behind Bongo's to watch the fireworks. We could hear the music and the countdown from there as well. (I understand the Voodoo Garden at the House of Blues is especially romantic  )

Trish is right, The actual celebration is more of "we should see it to say we did it" ultimately leaving a lack luster "been there, done that" feeling in retrospect. 'Course if you like sucking face in front of strangers...

:D
Sounds like if we happened to be there - do it ... otherwise we shouldn't go out of our way.

That's my opinion.
Don't miss the comedy club! It is hilarious...and each show is different because it is improv!
