I'm So Confused!

I have been reading everyone's threads about all the different choices for purchasing MYW packages, AP's, upgrading from a MYW to a AP, AP discounts and so on...

QUESTION: Are the discounts with the annual pass worth the price?
Is it better than the MYW with dining? Do you buy the DDE?

I have a MYW 7day PH Plus reservation for late October that I can not change to take advantage of the free dining. We are hoping to return in Feb. for a short trip to try out the weather in Feb VS. Oct (Asthma).

Now I dont know if we should up grade to a AP or a 10 day MYW PH Plus with no exp date. We did the Silver Dining plan last year and loved it. We got the Dining plan this year as I like knowing that that part is paid for and I dont have to worry about it. But if it is going to be a lot cheaper to do the AP I would do that.

Any Help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Re: I'm So Confused!

You need see Mickey's thread about how WDW is messing with the AP discounts.

AP's are good on their own if you are going to use them for multiple visits.

mousesavers.com has a calculator to compare MYW no exp. passes to AP's. Check it out.

The new dining plus is the best dining deal WDW has ever offered free or not. It would just be nice to be able to get it w/o a package.

Re: I'm So Confused!

I would hold off on the AP, the MYW tickets are really a good deal. And it seems like it is going to be hard for a lot of us to use the AP rates, anymore. Since you have to book 120 days out with a non refundable deposit.

I know what you mean about being confused. Now that Disney is making the AP room discounts extremely UN-user-friendly, APs are useful only if you're making multiple trips or taking a very long trip. As a result, I'm surrounded with spreadsheets and calculators trying to figure out what the best deal is.

My advice to you, and everyone else who's confused, is to get in touch with a trustworthy travel agent (like Mouseketrips) and let them do the math for you. They have the most up-to-date information and deal with these comparisons every day, so they should be able to take your specific situation and help you to make the best choices.

Good luck!
