PrimevilWhirl

Has anyone been to Animal Kingdom lately. I curious about the new ride the Primevil Whirl. How is it? I'm looking forward to trying it out. :)

TINK61,

We were there in June, and my wife, 10-year old daughter, and myself all gave it a thumbs up. It's a zippy ride with lots of sharp turns and quick drops. My wife does not like most roller coasters and I don't like other 'Wild Mouse' type of rides, but we still enjoyed it.

All this said, I think it's a nice ride - certainly not an E-ticket experience.

Bruce

We went on it in April while we were there for a "girls" weekend. It definitely puts a different twist on the typical roller coaster. As brumcg said, it's definitely not an e-ticket ride but I liked it. Kind of a Tilt a Whirl meets Roller Coaster. My husband and I are taking our girls back in December for the first time but the youngest one won't be able to go on it since the minimum height is 48". I'm all for safety and everything but I don't quite get that one. I didn't think it was that scary - fast - whatever of a ride that she wouldn't be able to go on. I was surprised when I read it.

I rode the ride in August and my 7-year old really enjoyed. But, like everyone else said "not an E-ticked ride". Kind of reminded me of a carnival ride, for me it was just ok.:)

We did it in March, right as it was opening, & again a couple of weeks ago. We really enjoyed it. Not RnR, but a cool ride anyway. I suggest getting a fastpass though...it's a pretty popular ride. Or, get a fastpass for Dinosaur & wait for PW while you're waiting for your time.

My 8 year old DD LOVED it!!! I on the other hand, was miserable. I thought it was too jerky and slammed you around too much, it actually hurt at points. We were 'lucky' enough :hmmm to get to go around twice because there was no line. Oh well, DD was thrilled and Disney is for the kids, right? :D

I liked it but thought it was a little jerky. I had to ride by myself - DD wasn't tall enought and DH doesn't do any rides that spin. I'd ride again but not by myself. I like to have someone to laugh with!

It's what is called a "Virginia Reel" coaster, and it was a pretty bruising ride if you sit on one of the 2 ends.
:p :D :laugh

If you are the least bit prone to motion sickness stay away. I love SM, RnRRC, everything else. This is the only ride besides Body Wars that has ever made me the least bit ill. But, I don't understand the height thing either.

That's funny lrtjs, because my DH gets motion sick from Body Wars, Star Wars & all those circle-vision things that make you feel like you're flying, but he CAN do Primevil Whirl. As a matter of fact he loves it. (He can do just about anything else, too, including ToT & RnR!)

My dd and I rode the ride I didn't think it was that great. I thought I had a broken rib after riding that ride, the way it slams you around.

Just got back:

It is not worth a visit to Animal Kingdom just to ride the new stuff

It is not a very memorable experience.

It is slightly fun

It is short

It is a little rough

It is not very Disney (more of a very nicely themed carnival ride)

Not repeatable (like RnR, BTM, or Space Mountain)

In a few years, this will be less remembered than the Barnstormer.

Just my opinions. :p

This is going to sound weird but I'm overweight and a little concerned on the seating..........I know it probably sounds funny to you but this is a definite concern. Do I try to go on it or do i skip it?
