Is SpectroMagic worth it?

SO..

They have finally posted the park hours for September, and boy has it thrown a wrench into my system! They are only doing Spectro at MK on the Monday that I arrive and the Saturday before I leave, and that really screws up my plans. So is it worth it to change my itinerary for Spectro?

We planned on using our Saturday to go to AK for morning EMH to catch anything we missed our first day there, then go back to the hotel, then travel over to DS to see the stars and motor cars parade and eat at 50's Primetime. I suppose what I could do is skip our AK that day (since we have one whole day there earlier in the week, and I've heard that AK is really a one-day park) and do DS in the early part of the day, stay for stars and motor cars at 5 o'clock, then travel over to MK for Spectromagic and see wishes again. Somewhere in there, I would still have to eat dinner somewhere.

So, is spectro worth it? I remember seeing it years ago when DH and I went, but I don't remember if it is really worth moving everything around. I need help! Please!!

I can't help, but I'm curious about the answer, too, since I'll also be making a trip when it's shown only a few times. I love the Electrical Parade; how do they compare?

I'm biased: I LOVE all the Disney parades. I think they're so delightful, that they alone justify the price of admission. And the nighttime ones are just so much more magical.

Of course, once you've seen the parade several times, you can skip it for different things. But if you haven't seen it in a long time, I say go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Spectromagic is a great parade, but to me doesn't even compare with the Main St. Electrical Parade (which is now at DCA in California!). If you have seen it before, I don't think I would rearrange your schedule to get there.

I love Spectro magic, but haven't seen it in years. Because they only do it a few times a week, I always end up not making it. That being said, I wouldn't change my entire itinerary to catch it. If you find yourself not needing a second day at AK, then go for it. Don't change your plans, but keep it in the back of your mind in case you find yourself wanting to change up your plans once you are there. I have found each trip that no matter how well I plan and intend to stick to those plans, there are days where we just throw caution to the wind and do whatever. Sometimes it's nice to just wing it for a day. The parade is awesome. If you intend to go again, and I'm sure you will, make Spectro your priority then.

I would change my schedule to see it only if you could get a front row seat. Of course that means sitting down at least an hr to 1 hr 1/2 before the parade even starts. Don't try to sit at Main Street either. We watched in Frontierland and had front row and the look on my 4 yr old's face was priceless. I could do a credit card commercial just from her watching that parade.

of course spectromagic is worth is!!!! it is a wonderful show. you'll definitely enjoy it. the floats are amazing and all the lights it's just magical.

I agree that the Main Street Elect Parade was better, but Spectro is still good. If you are going to the studios more than once, then I would make plans to see Spectro. If that is the only day your visiting the the Studios, then I would stay there.

SpectroMagic is completly magical and it makes you feel your at disney 100%...we always do it the night before we leave...it makes us sadder to leave but while we are there i am always breathless...that music..ahh i love it..best parade at wdw

I never saw Main St. Electrical, but contrary to some of the opinions that have been posted here, I know many folks who have seen both and have said that they are sufficiently different and that there are pros and cons to each.

That said, I think Spectromagic is a GREAT parade, particularly if you've never seen it.

I'd rather not build it up any more to avoid inflating expectations, but I think you should definately re-arrange your schedule. I remember the first time we saw it as a family. It was great. It was a wonderful night.

Find a spot on Main St. about 45 minutes before hand. Someone in your party can go get ice-cream or bakery snacks, coffee, etc. You can have after-dinner dessert while sitting. Even though Main St. tends to be more crowded, I think it's the best place to see Spectro.

Have a GREAT time!

Spectro is our one must do at the MK everytime we go.....which doesn't seem to impressive until you consider that we go every weekend..... :)
