How busy and why?

Help never been to WDW in Feb before but realize after booking hotels etc (Peak Season) perhaps this is not the best time. Will we find it really busy last week in Feb? Have been once in August (too hot) once Christmas just to say we had but other trips Oct or Nov Why is Feb busy? Sorry if everyone knows but me Thanks

We were there Feb 2002 the week before President's day. Things started getting more crowded towards the end of the week. I was told things pick-up from that point on till Easter/Spring Break.

We were there last February and early March, and it wasn't too bad at all. It was definitely more crowded than during the Fall, but we never waited more than about 15 minutes for any ride, except many of the rides in Fantasyland were quite crowded. We just went there first thing in the morning, and had no problem waliking on each ride.

While it is considered "Peak" season, it is mostly because of President's day, Spring Break and Easter. I think Disney just decided that it would be too confusing to try to section out each of those as Peak, so they just lumped the whole thing together. I also think that Spring Break varies widely around the country, so if you want to go during that time, you have to pay "Peak" pricing.

hey livsey, welcome to Disney Central! The dates for Spring Break differ with many schools and colleges, but the majority of them are in the middle of April. If Half term is in the middle of april then its the same as Spring Break. Spring Break is just a full week off of school for everyone from elementary schools to colleges. Presidents day is the 3rd week of February, and it can get pretty crowded that weekend with the schools and offices closed. Hope this helped.
Joe:)

Welcome to Disney Central! Actually, as a native Floridian, February is one of the times I recommend for people to go to WDW. I have not experienced bad crowds and the weather is usually just beautiful!

The only thing I can think of regarding Disney hotels is that for Jan and Feb, passholders are getting some awesome deals - we are already thinking of going in February just because of that. You have already experienced real peak times - August and Christmas. I think you will really enjoy February much more. Have fun! :)

I know here in the Northeast (at least NH and MA) the schools have a winter break also. It is the last week of February, that could be a reason for elevated crowds

Winter break in february elfmay?! thats soo cool! lol, My school has its winter break from dec. 20th to jan. 6th. So we get over 2 weeks off. Its not that much of a "winter" break being in south florida though, lol. I really miss seeing the "white christmas" that everybody up north takes for granted....my parents would grumble so much when they had to take out those snow shovels! lol. Oops, got alittle carried away. Sorry for thinking outloud..lol.
