weather update for frantic mom!

Doing our last minute packing and running low on space! Anybody just back? I see the weather is 80 day/65 night. Do I need to pack jackets/long pants for the kids? Thanks...

Here are some links to local TV stations in Orlando. We used them to get weather updates for our trip. I trust local TV forcasts more than ones from the weather channel.

Have fun and eat a Churro for me!:p

No matter what the weather predicts, Florida weather can change so quickly...I would for sure bring along 1 pair of "sweats" for everyone! Just in case......

Although I've said it before, when we went in 12/00, weather was in the 50's before we got there, then 90's while we were there and on our last day, there were snow flurries before we got to the panhandle! We packed all winter clothes for that week, except one pair of shorts for each....I washed those shorts every night! I don't want to do that again!

Have a wonderful trip. Can't wait to hear all the details!

I'm near Tampa. My kids are, as I type, running around in short sleeves and short pants. It's cloudy today and the sun really isn't out, but even without the sun - it's warm outside, the breeze is warm - mixed with (an ever so slight) pinch of coolness (i.e. - it's nice!) - I would definitely say there is =no= chill on it...not even remotely. But that said, BDavis932 is right - the weather can change on a dime. It would probably be a good idea to find something that covers the kids skin from either rain or wind, if for some reason it gets cooler at night, or if your kids are cold natured. I would hesitate to say you need a jacket, unless it's a very =light= jacket. A windbreaker maybe. There was a cooler night a week or so ago when I successfully turned off the air-conditioner at night and opened the windows, but no such luck since then.

Maybe someone from Orlando can give you a better take!!

Thanks everyone! From what you've said, I have a sweatsuit packed for each kid but don't think I'll need more than that. We can leave the winter coats in the car at the airport!!! FLA here we come!

Well, it's nippy outside now. Figures, after I wrote that glowing report!! It's 8:51pm and your kids would be cold if you were out in shorts right now - although we were out last night at the same time and it was fine. Who can tell! Still, not heavy coat weather, but for sure sweatshirt and sweatpants too for just in case you get a night like tonight - sorry...
