2006 Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World!

WAHOO! It came out today. I'm freakishly excited!

I checked with my local Barnes and Noble yesterday hoping it may have slipped on the shelf early. (It didn't.) They are going to have 10 copies available as of today! I can hardly contain myself. I may start a thread similar to the Harry Potter thread telling you all about how it ends . . . Um . . . Wait . . . Nevermind that won't work.

Anyway I thought everyone should know. I'm just doing my part to advance mankind's knowledge of Disney.

Birnbaum's 2006 is slated for Oct. I'm done getting Birnbaum's they never change. BORING!

How different from year to year are these books? Are they reviews from the previous year? Sorry, I'm new at these books. I did buy the 2005 before our April trip, should I buy a new one? Thanks.

Not sure how different from year to year for the Unofficial Guide I've never read it. Birnbaum's doesn't change much. I had 2001 and then bought 2005 and there wasn't much new there.

DANG! None of the Barnes and Nobles near me have it yet. I believe there is a conspiracy in the works by none other than Mary Poppins!

I imagine 2006 will be much different with the changes in the dining plans & MYW packages. Plus, there are several new attractions that opened for the 50th celebration.

I just realized I haven't even finished reading my 2005 from cover to cover...whoopee! I'm going to have DOUBLE the Unofficial reading to catch up on!

I bet you're right Cavey...there's been a lot of changes recently so the 2006 will probably have to account for all that.

So, has anyone gottent he 2006 guide and checked it out yet? We leave in just 2 weeks and I'm wondering if the guide has changed enough to warrant purchasing yet another tour book (mind you, I already have 3 from this season)!

I had the 2004(borrowed) and 2005(friend's borrowing it now). I don't know that there were a lot of changes. They use many of the same examples from year to year. I just get a kick out of comparing the sections to figure out what changed.

I don't know if I am going to get the 2006 or not.

Don't know about the unofficial guide yet. I just left Barnes and Noble here in Shreveport, and they don't have it yet. I was there inquiring if my Imagineering Guide to WDW came in. They had to special order it. Not it yet though.

we leave in 4 weeks and I was wondering the same thing. The only ones I have are the offical guide, and one that I have found had some questionable "tips" in it.....The Everything Family Guide to the Walt Disney World Resort....

Wondering if I should go grab this to add to my collection of info?
