Becoming disappointed before we arrive...

I know WDW is the most magical place in the world, but it seems the closer I get to our trip, the more refurbishment closings are coming out. I am getting so sad!

First, the most major highlight of our trip was going to be sending DH on DiveQuest, and having my 1 1/2 yr old see daddy [sort of] swimming with Nemo (who is one of her 2 favorite characters). Obviously, with Living Seas down, that's not happening. Then, there was the long, long, long rehab for ice station cool which is closed...and I thought that the new Hundred Acre wood spot would be open in September for us to see, but according to the CM I spoke to on the phone, it looks more like November. Now I also see on Mouseplanet that Ol'Man Island spa is closed at POR for our trip dates as well. It's not like we planned on seeing absolutely everything (I am not quite that crazy), but it seems like we will be missing so much! All the more reason to push DH to book the trip I am trying to convince him to reserve next December!

Sorry for the whinning...I just need to vent sometimes!!

Whine away...we understand:) Everyone is allowed a pity party to get it out of their system! Get it out now and maybe it will help you enjoy your WDW trip later....

PrincessPooh,

It can be so frustrating when it seems like there are so many rehabs during your trip. I absolutely love Big Thunder Mountain and it was closed during my last trip to WDW in 2003 and then when I went to Disneyland last summer it was closed there as well! The good news is, we had a great time anyway and I am sure that you will too!

I know what you mean PrincessPooh, I hate when my favorite attractions are closed during my visit. It may seem like a downer now, but once you get there and you're surrounded by the magic and the so many other things there are to do in the "world", you'll forget all about the attractions you wish were open! And having all of them closed gives you even more reason to come back! Cheers!

Re: Becoming disappointed before we arrive...

So sorry to hear you will miss some things Add me to the list of "whiners"- I really wanted my kids to see Playhouse Disney in April, but it was closed the whole week we were there. It reopened 2 days after we left. My boys will probably be too old for it next time

Re: Becoming disappointed before we arrive...

Oh PrincessPooh...feel free to vent, it's okay!

I'm so sorry you're feeling sad and frustrated! It seems like I get that way before every WDW trip. I start finding out that things are going to be closed, and I get all depressed. Any time I think that something is going to affect the Magic on our trip, I worry like crazy!

The good news is, by the time we get there, I'm always so excited again that I completely forget about the bad stuff! The first time I took DH to Disneyland, (he was still fiance at that point) Indiana Jones and Space Mountain were both closed. We also missed the opening of the Tower of Terror by a mere couple of months. I was so upset!

We had such a WONDERFUL trip though!!! Truth be told, we didn't even notice anything missing while we were there.

Here's sending some pixie dust your way and hoping that your trip is the most magical one yet! *hugs*

That is right. All the more reason to plan and look forward to another trip!
There is so much to do that even though you will still miss the ones that are closed you will be so busy with all the other great things! The trip will still be lots of fun and I am sure you will have a GREAT time!

I'm with you PrincessPooh. DH and love love love Ice Station Cool and it's down for us too. I didn't see Turtle Talk and I was looking forward to checking it out, but oh well. On an up side, you'll miss it this time around but it will be that much better the next time.

Pooh- we're in Seaford and I found that new channel this past week (right after we booked our latest trip)! It is in the 700's- with HD channels. My kids love to watch where they are going!
