If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?

Let's say (hypothetically) that you may not be able to return to WDW for at least another 10 years.

You have ONE day/night in WDW to create as many magical memories as you can.

What would you do/what resort would you stay at/where would you eat? How would you manage to fit it all in?

~~~~~~~~~~~
I would get up bright and early and head straight to the MK. I'd hit:
Splash
BTMRR
HM
Pirates
Tiki Room
<------insert a Dole Whip here
Space
Buzz
Carousel of Progress
It'd be off to the Poly from there, to rent WaterMice for an hour...
Then it's the Studios in the afternoon, for multiple rides on ToT and RnRC, and lunch of a turkey leg and a Coke! Mmmm!
I'd complete my day at Epcot, with several rides on TT and a showing of Illuminations.
Then I'd swim in the Volcano Pool at the Poly...and head back to my lagoon view room for room service dinner and a good night's sleep.
Oh, and I'd probably cry if I REALLY wasn't going back to WDW for ten years!
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
Easy:
Go to MK
Splash
Now I am hungry, maybe we could swing down to the Bakery on Main Street and have a little something to eat while sitting outside, watching the goings on around us.
Pirates
Tiki Room
Philharmagic
Haunted Mansion
Buzz
For Dinner it would have to be the Clam Bake at the Beach Club because I am famished from all the magnificent rides today.
Then off to the pool, some drinks and who knows, Maybe the Adventurer's Club is calling me.
Thanks Dizzygirl, what a grand day I've had
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
That's just HARD!!! And MEAN to make me think of never going back to WDW for ten years!! Okay, if I had to do it...:
I'd hit the MK at opening
Go on Splash, Space Mtn., Haunted Mansion, Pirates
Get a Dole Whip
Go on Splash again, then Peter Pan, Snow White, Philharmagic, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz
Head over to Epcot and have lunch at Le Cellier
Wander through the World Showcase, then
Ride TT, M:S, Soarin', Imagination, SE
Ride over to MGM on the FriendShip and go on RnR Coaster and see Muppets
Then go to AK for a Safari ride and a run on Kali
Go to CSR for a margarita, a swim, and a nap in the hammock
Head to 'Ohana for dinner, then back to MK for Wishes
THEN go to Pleasure Island for an hour or so at the Adventurer's Club
and back to the Grand Floridian for cookies and milk and falling asleep with a view of the castle...
Okay, so my perfect day is a little bit longer than the normal 24-hour day, but I did work in a nap!! :)
O my gosh, I didn't read Dizzygirl's post really well. I didn't see the 10 year clause. Now I may have to re-think my answer.
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
Alright here's my new revised plan:
I would check into the Grand Floridian
Head over to the MK and start by making a stop at the Candy store on Main Street(just to take it all in. Not buying yet)
Then I'll have to have some coffee and a little something to munch on while I sit and people watch sitting outside of the bakery on Main Street. Hopefully there won't be any grumpy faces around me.
Next I have to go to Splash Mountain and ride it twice!
zigzagging through the park - next would be
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
It is time to try a Turkey Leg. I think they are little hams but that's alright too.
Tiki Room
Philharmagic
Buzz
Carousel of Progress
Time for Dinner. Still the Clam Bake. But since I am not going to go there again for another 10 years I will be wearing specially designed attire with hidden pockets for buckets to take home some seafood in
Of course I will look like a 200 pound blimp but who cares. These people won't remember me 10 years from now.
Then I'll go "home" to my concierge level room at the Grand Floridian. I'll call that concierge and ask her/him to bring me 6 fluffy pillows for a wonderful night filled with....(no, not what you're thinking----filled with disney dreams..hmmmmm)
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
Ohh! This is fun!!! I'd bring The Dave with me of course!
I would stay at the Poly since I have ALWAYS wanted to stay there!
I would start off the day at EPCOT..
I'd hit Soarin, Journey into the Imagination! and Mission: Space.
Then we'd start eating and drinking around the world counter clockwise!
Once we hit Mexico it would be on to MK! Where we would hit:
Space Mtn., Buzz Lightyear and a few spins on the TTA, then to POTC, Tiki Room, Splash Mtn, and BTMRR and HM. The to Fantasyland where we would see PhilharMagic, Peter Pan's Flight and It's a Small World. Then we'd watch Wishes and SpectroMagic while having a very late dinner at Casey's Corner.....
Then we'd probaly go swimming...and I'd cry the whole way home.
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
This is so hard. Ok, here is what I think I would do.
Start the day with beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter - a yummy favorite but still light enough that I could save some room for later in the day.
Then I would hit the Studios first, ride ToT and RnR to get them out of the way.
Then I would head over to MK, ride Splash, Big Thunder, Pirates, Small World and see Philharmagic. Grab a quick lunch at Pecos Bills.
Next, it would be a quick trip to Epcot to ride Test Track and Mission Space.
I would take the monorail to California Grill and eat while watching Wishes (hopefully a 7 pm showing so I have time for the plan for the rest of my night)
Take the monorail BACK to EPCOT to catch Illuminations as the cap of the day in the parks.
Then I would walk to the Boardwalk, get an ice cream and go to Jellyrolls as my grand finale!!
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
Well let see, generally when we do one day trips, you start off with the early park first, and move to the late park last. Being Magic Kingdom, MGM, Epcot.
Magic Kingdom - (hoping for some EMH)
Go to Pirates of the Carribean first
Ride Splash Mountain
Ride Thunder Mountain
Go over to Haunted Mansion
Then It's a Small World
Peter Pans Flight
Up to Goofy's Barnstormer
Then onto Indy Speedway
Head over to Tommorrow land and ride Space Mountain
Then the Orbiter
Have a double bacon cheese burger at Cosmic Rays
Then go on Buzz.
Next MGM
Hop on Star Tours
Go on The Great Movie Ride
and over to Extreme Stunt show
Do a quick round of Who wants to be a millionare Play It! (come on, you get a whole week on the cruise if you get a million... nice way to carry on the magic)
Then finish off on Tower of Terror
and Rock n' Rollercoaster
Hop on the Friendship Boat to Epcot
Pass the worlds, and do the Goofy Maze in England.
And lets not forget to pick up a large McD's fries.
Go on Journey Into Imagination
Then over to Soarin
And have a talk with Crush
Pass by and do Spaceship Earth
Then on to Test Track
Head back into the World Showcase and ride the Maelstrom
Stop at Germany and pick up some gummies
Go to America, and do the American Adventure
Then pick a good spot for Illuminations
Take the friendship boat back over to Downtown Disney and have a late dinner at Planet Hollywood. Take a stroll through Pleasure Island. Then catch a boat over to Port Orleans Riverside. And take a good long sleep at the Mansions.
And it might seem like a lot, but it can be done (from experience). You also gotta plan on doing this in December when weather is cool, and lines are short.
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
Awww, y'all packed so much more into your day than me! What's WRONG with this picture?? I tried to be Park Commando, but not so crazy that you guys would say it was impossible. Looks like my plan was plenty doable...
Bali, you reminded me...I forgot a Dole Whip!! I can't believe it!!
*goes to add that into her plan*
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
You can't forget the Dole Whip! So easy and portable, it's the park commando's number 1 sidekick!
And, as you can see, the plan being "do-able" wasn't high priority for me... . ;) If the world can be so shaken as to prevent me from getting back to WDW for 10 years, it can be shaken enough to give me a few more hours in that final day!!
A Dole Whip is soft serve pineapple ice cream from Aloha Isle in Adventureland. You can make it a float by adding pineapple juice to it. I try one every year and I want to like it but I just don't like pineapple ice cream.
LOL! Keep trying, Stephanie! I didn't like it at ALL when I first tried it, but I tried another one this year and suddenly was addicted.
I love Dole Whips! I didn't know about making it a float though. Is it any good that way?
Re: If you had ONE magical day, what would you do?
A Dole Whip is the best treat EVER! (I loooove pineapple anything!) As a float, it's the most refreshing item in all of WDW...juice to quench your thirst, and the soft serve to cool you down! I have to have multiple Dole Whips every trip...
Bali, you're right! It's perfectly portable for Park Commando-ing!
