Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

We celebrated our 15th anniversary at WDW in 2002. We had our anniversary dinner at Cinderella's Round Table. I had mentioned it was our anniversary when I made the PS. I remember the hostess and waiter both acknowledged the day, and after dinner, our waiter gave us a wrapped gift box that had two champagne glasses etched with Cinderella's Round Table on it. It was very sweet. Make sure you mention its your anniversary when you make any dining arrangements, because they may just surprise you with something. Also, let reservations know at the resort you are staying at, as they may just surprise you too by sending something to your room.

Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

I am celebrating my 1 year anniversary while we are down in WDW in November.
So i planned a special Anniversay Wishes cruise. It cost about $20 more then a regular wished cruise but the provide anniversary decorations and a small cake.
I am also taking him to his favorite restuarant Teppankyi in Japan
Unfourtuantely he cant plan anything for me because i do all the planning
but i think this will be very special for him
along with the surprise i am doing by giving him a new wedding ring since he lost his other rings
I still have to get that surprise locked down
but definatley tell them you are celebrating your anniversary when oyu make PS.
i did that for my DH's birthday and they brought him out a small cake and all the tables around us sang happy birthday
good luck

Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

Make sure you tell everyone that it is your anniversary. You get all kinds of special treatment. We just got married and spent our honeymoon there and there was something special everywhere we went.

P.S. One way to tell everyone it's your anniversary without saying anything: Go to City Hall on Main Street and let them know. They will have special buttons for you to wear during your stay (you can take them home too, of course ) ALL of the CMs know what they mean and at the very least, they will wish you 'Congratulations!'

Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

i'm celebrating my first anniversary there next month and have been planning special things for our trip. I booked a wishes cruise the night of our anniversary, but before that we're having dinner at the California Grill. i'm going to book massages at the Swan, where we're staying at. try to make plans that will make your trip and day even more special.

Of course! Definitely make it special, especially since it's just going to be you and your hubby!

In 2002 I went to WDW from Sept. 3-15, but I still considered it a birthday trip even though it wasn't my bday until the 18th! I wore the birthday button and everything.

Our anniv is Sept 6 and we will be there Sept 8-15. With the 2 kids it doesn't sound like a very romantic anniv, but it will sure be fun.

Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

For our 5th wedding anniversary, we are having our vow renewal ceremony at Disney. We used the disneyweddings.com website to see how much it would cost for 40 people (for what we wanted) and it is less than $16,000. This is less than the cost of a wedding, elsewhere!! We are going to have the ceremony at the Wedding Pavillion and Reception at Citrico's. I, even, priced this with Cinderella's Glass Coach and the photo package that includes the Magic Kingdom photo session.

Good Luck with planning!!

our 10th anniversary is in about 2 years and I want to renew our vows at the beautiful chapel. Although, I am not sure I could afford 16,000 to do it! Have fun you two!

We had the coach and it was absolutely worth it!

In fact the whole Disney Fairy Tale Wedding experience was just that - a Fairy Tale!

It was even raining the whole week of our wedding and, I don't know how they did it, but Disney even arranged to turn the rain off every time we needed it off!

Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

My partner and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary at WDW last May. We went to City Hall and got our buttons and everyone stopped us to wish us a happy anniversary. This surprised us a bit since we are a same-gender couple, but Disney treated us like royalty. The day of our anniversary, we dined at Crystal Palace. Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eyore (along with our waiter Vinny) decorated with heart shaped glitter confetti in the shape of a big heart with the words "Happy Anniversary" in the center. We had told them it was our anniversary, ahead of time, of course as we did when booking the trip with the resort. At Boma at AKL, they presented us with a special dessert. And at each park, we were stopped and congratulated by both CM's and guests.

In short, there are so many things that Disney does to make an anniversary special that's impossible to list them all, but it will be a magical time for you and your spouse whatever you decide to do.

That sounds so wonderful! This is not really the same, but we had my daughters Birthday at Disneyland and it was so magical! I think a wedding there would be so nice.

Re: Wedding anniversary at WDW.

Last year we celebrated our anniversary at the California Grill. Let's just say, we were boned. Hospitality was awful. We got seated at a fully obstructed view table. The maitre'd(sp?) had his head up his rear, didn't seem to comprehend enough English to understand what our issues were and nobody could have cared less that we were hotel guests celebrating our anniversary. We were just another couple of "tourists" on the Gold Plan. I just wanted to throw this out here as well, because, my experience with California Grill is that many of the CMs we've interacted with both times we ate up there, can be that their poop don't stink, and who are you, a mere mortal, to be asking anything of us.

Despite the tone of my last post, I am planning a vow renewal for our 10th in October and considering the CG for the group dinner. Unless you are planning a big crowd, I wouldn't do the chapel. You can also do intimate renewals at several of the deluxe resorts, and it will cost much less, but your maximum number of guests is limited to around 10. As for the rest of the day, I'm not sure how this is going to go, as I don't know who's coming added to it being a surprise. But with all the options, you could serve a meal aboard one of the pontoon boats, charter the Grand One, almost anything, including parasailing.
