You know your getting old....

Was I seriously dating myself when I asked how to get to the "Wedway People Mover?" I guess its now the TTA. The CM did a slight hesitation and then gave me the directions. Oh well, I hope that having my 1st visit in 1977 (one park, two hotels, and still lots of thrills!!!) doesn't make me THAT old, does it?

I'm 26, I even know some 23 year olds who still call it that. I don't think it shows your age, it's just hard to rename an attraction and not really change it. I still call POR Dixie Landings.:D

You know are getting old....

Do you think I'll have much luck finding the Matterhorn Bobsled at Disneyland? I really enjoyed riding it in 1959. You can't grow old as long as you keep going back!

KEEP GOING BACK!

Probably have better luck finding that than the Rainbow Caverns Mine Train. :p

By the way, have you checked out yesterland.com? It's a great site for taking a trip down Disneyland memory lane.

Just don't go expecting to see the Matterhorn within the next couple of months- the ride is being refurbished. Actually it looks like it will be a long time before it's operational again. As the monorail passes through, you can actually peek in at the construction in progress. So if you DO go back and want to ride it, call to be sure it's back in operation.

Ooh-- and Disneyland's People Mover or TTA ride is gone, too. No sign of it ever existing either (though I had ridden it during my first and brief 4 hr trip to D'Land )
Speaking of old rides - Do you folks remember the Skyway at WDW??? I remember riding it alone in 1991 - the one day I did the MK all on my own - and went on every ride I could.

The Sky Ride was there until last year I think? Neighbor went in Jan. '02 and rode it and then went back in May '02 and it was gone!!

Dixie Landings RULES!!!

And, thanks guys! You made me feel young -- I wasn't around in '59 (older brothers were - ha ha) but I didn't come around until a few months after JFK was shot! Its hard to believe that todays high school seniors weren't around for the launch of Star Wars or know who shot JR (or who JR was for that matter)!! I'm starting to feel my 39th bday creep up on me! Heck, my 19 year-old nephew wanted to know why the Smithsonian had Archie Bunkers chair and "who is Archie Bunker anyway?"! Ugh, I hear 40's even worse. Can I really be this old?

Thanks again and you can bet I'll be back......Disney keeps you young!!!!!

Young is getting up at the crack of dawn to be the first on the RocknRoller coaster. Young is not sleeping well the night before your flight leaves because you just can't wait to get to WDW. Young is buying mickey ears for yourself. Young is sulking (silently to yourself counts) in Orlando airport for your return flight home.
Old is saying it's too much of a hassle to get to WDW.

Thank you, Amethyst!
Young is when you run through the lines, because no one is in front of you!

And, young is when you volunteer for every show that calls for audience participation, even if you have no idea what it's about.

buzzsmommy, I just turned a year younger than you and I know exactly what you mean. But aside from the odd looks you get from people, Disney is something that never gets old. It helps when you have kids to share it with - perhaps it looks less strange to be excited about the subject as you get older.
Thanks for the other thoughts, everyone. Definitely keeps you young just to THINK DISNEY.
:)
