Fast pass or standard line??
We are taking my parents in order for them to watch 2 year old daughter while we ride some "big" rides. We do not want the them just waiting on us all day so would you recommed the fast pass or standard line? We are going the first week in March. (They will also want to ride some of these as well while we wait.) :weird:

That's the big question...
We tend to FastPass if the wait is over 30 minutes and the park is busy. The way I figure it, there's probably some overhead to fast pass since you have to travel back to the attraction, and that might not be convenient. Another thing to consider if all of the adults want to do something, but the kid doesn't (or can't)... Do a Baby swap. One adult (or two?) waits with the child in a special area; when the other adults are finished, the waiting adult(s) can ride right away. That sounds perfect for your situation. Bruce

The first week of March should not be too crowded so you should not have very long lines.
We went the first week of Oct. and did not wait more than 1/2 hour for any ride. The only ride we did fast pass for was Test Track and we waited in line just as long as we did the first time we rode it with no Fast Pass.

My only experience with Fast Pass was Splash Mountain. This was a couple of years ago. I was with my sister-in-law and we didn't get a Fast Pass because I thought it would be quicker. It was a crowded day at the park and I misjudged the line. 55 minutes later we got on. That's not the thing..the thing is that at a certain point in the line,(where the two lines mingled into one) regular line people got to watch the staff let 35 fast pass people zoom through and then maybe let 10 regular people.. That's ...just a horrible feeling... LOL!
So I'd say, if you have experience with the ride or can judge how long the line is and you think you can beat it - go for it. But if you are a rookie with no sense whatsoever..fast pass.. |

Watching people go by for FastPass while you're in the regular line IS awful! I had that unfortunate experience with The Land. The line was soooo slow, and it was because people were FastPassing in droves fo 10-15! Whole boats went by without the regular line moving at all!
FastPass works well if the ride you want to get it for is near other you want to do (or a place you want to eat at or shop at) where there isn't such a long line. Then you can get things accomplished and waltz into the ride you want without waiting in line. We did a Fast Pass for Splash Mountain a couple of times in succession, and busied ourself on other rides and stuff in between. It was great because it was like getting Splash Mountain for "free".

Actually, the main reason I don't use Fastpass is I am an annual passholder and I go to Disney about twice a month,so if I don't go on an attraction one time,I'll catch it the next,so I say to myself let others use the Fastpass,it frees up one ticket for someone else.
