Pooh's Playful Spot to open in September

Disney has announced that "Pooh's Playful Spot" will open in early September to guests. The press release says (thanks to www.mouseplanet.com ) :

Opening in September is a delightful new place where parents and children can play or relax together during a Walt Disney World vacation.

Called Pooh's Playful Spot, the whimsically themed area is located directly across from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction in Fantasyland and will immerse guests of all ages in the beloved tales of the Hundred Acre Wood.

The beautifully landscaped oasis created by Walt Disney Imagineering offers numerous fun features for littler guests, including spurting fountains of water, crawl-through logs and honey pots, a slide, a treehouse for climbing and log-style benches for grown-ups -- all themed to the stories of Pooh, Tigger and friends.

The rumored opening date is September 1st.

OMG!!! So excited!!! When I called several weeks ago, the CM told me it looked more like a november opening! My daughter will be so thrilled! She's a huge pooh fan! I guess this can sort of make up for us having to miss turtle talk!

My 2yo DD will love to play inside the 100 acre woods. The walks around our house yelling pooh when they are on tv.

Great news! The place is shaping up nicely. Anyone have new pics?

With this and Everest Wrapping up, the timing seems about right for the next wave of rumors to start cropping up. lol

Personally, I hope Toon Town Fair and the Speedway get an overhaul, Living Seas gets a new ride, MGM gets a new dark ride and/or Indiana Jones ride, and some family flats come to Animal Kingdom.

I totally agree, Spider. DL has an awesome Indiana Jones ride that I'd love to see at MGM. THey also have a COOL Roger Rabbit ride that I think would be perfect for our ToonTown.

Oh, and, the Pooh thing is cool, too. Wish I had gotten to see Ariel's Grotto, though. It was closed when we were there.

I would love to see the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway get a major rehab. First off, let's actually get a futuristic theme. The cars and station need to be changed. Now off to Fantasyland. Both Peter Pan and Snow White need rehabs badly. As for new rides, there is a ton of land behind Pooh's Playful Spot. Lets put in a Beauty and the Beast dark ride back there, as well as a Hercules dark ride/indoor roller coaster. In Adventureland, rehab PotC and build Raging Spirits from DisneySea. In Liberty Square, HM needs a rehab very badly.

Now on to MGM. Back by LMA, build a Monsters Inc. ride in one of the vacant soundstages. Take out Sounds Dangerous and put in CineMagic from Disney Studios Paris. A fireworks show would be nice too.

Over at AK, they need some more rides. Between Africa and Camp Minnie-Mickey build Journey to the Center of the Earth. In Camp Minnie-Mickey build a Jungle Book dark ride, a restaurant, and a carousel.

Epcot needs a new country in World Showcase. A raft ride in Canada would be great and a rehab of SE would be awesome.

Those are just some of my ideas. What do you think?

Oh I am so excited about this! I just love everything to do with Pooh and his friends. By the way coasterman, I agree, I'd love to see a rehab of the Indy cars, and I would be thrilled with a Monsters Inc attraction/ride at MGM!!!
