Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
We have an 8:20 am PS for Donald's breakfastosaurus. If we leave our room at POR around 7:30 am and head to the bus stop to catch the first bus to AK (assuming it is around 8 am, 1 hr before park opens), do you think we will make it to our PS? Otherwise, I guess we would have to take a cab, which isn't really all that horrible.

Re: Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
I don't remember the exact times but we went to Donalds from Pop and had to be there at 8. I think we left our room by 7:15 and made it by 8. Don't just allow time to get to the park. It takes a few min. to walk to the entrance and then it is another good walk back to the restaurant. You have allowed 40 min and that is about what we did and made it there on-time. Don't pay for a cab. Even if you are a few min. late it is no big deal. I think they have people show up late all the time because of not giving enough time to get there. We showed up 30+ min late for Chef Mickeys and they didn't act like it was a big deal and seated us right away. The Disney CM's are sooooo nice and helpful!

You will definitely make it to your breakfast PS.
The CMs in the lobby will tell you what time is a good time to catch that bus should you still be in doubt.

Re: Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
I love PS at Breakfastosaurus! You do get into the park early, which is a huge advantage to go to Dinosaur, though you are at the far end of the park from Kilmanjaro Safaris... I will never forget the red-faced, angry dad at the table one morning hurrying his kids to practically swallow their food whole so they could race over to be first in line at KS! We were in stitches! Nobody had the heart to tell him there still is a rope-drop over there!
At lunchtime, that restaurant has a burger bar, where you can add allkinds of stuff to your hamburger -- the mushrooms are GREAT!!!

So what do you think is our best bet after breakfast? I was thinking of walking right over to Dinosaur to get FP's, and then going over to ride KS. Keep in mind that DH and I will be doing the baby swap for Dinosaur, but DD (1 1/2) will be doing KS with us.

Re: Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
Actually, the Unofficial Guide to WDW states that buses run to theme parks from 2 hours before park opening until 2 hours after park closing. So you should be fine to get to you PS at Breakfastosauraus. I just thought I would let you know that you actually have a little more leeway on time than you thought. Enjoy your trip!!

Re: Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
Most definitley you'll have enough time. I'm certain of that! In all the times I've been to the World, It's never taken me an hour to get ANYWHERE from any point. Ok...well, save for that time my DH, (then my boyfriend), and I waited for eons outside the Wilderness Lodge for a bus to the MK. Oops. Slipped our attention that the only way to get to MK from WL is by BOAT! Hee hee.

Re: Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
I have to go from POFQ to breakfastsaurus and was curious myself as to how much time I should allow. I was totally prepared to take a cab if need be. Thanks for posting this.

Re: Bussing to AK form POR for breakfast
I have only been to WDW once and returning in 52 days, not that I am counting, but we were terrified last year not knowing what we were doing. We had made reservations all over and at as many character breakfasts as we could. We checked with the front desk and they provided us with all the details we needed. There are special buses that pick you up and take you from hotel to hotel or hotel to parks for breakfast. They were great and we were not only on time everywhere we went, we were early sometimes and got to look around the different resorts and parks with no crowds.
