If anyone cares to stick in their two cents, I am going to attempt to make a very rough touring plan for each day of our visit. I am not super crazy about sticking to a plan, but I would like to make a rough sketch of the things I don't want to miss. Here is an idea of my first day/arrival day at MK:

Arrive at MCO Orlando-take tram to main terminal-use ME to get to resort

Arrive at Port Orleans resort, check-in/possibly check for room
Grab lite lunch/snack at food court
Redeem ME pin voucher at Fulton’s general store

Take bus to Magic Kingdom
Go straight to Harmony Barber shop for Kelsey’s first haircut
Head to Mickey’s main st cinema to pick up “Pal Mickey” (coupon)
Pick up guest of honor badges

Head to Tony’s town square restaurant for dinner

Spectromagic parade/Wishes fireworks

Keep in mind this is only 1 of 3 days I had planned for MK, so I'm not too worried about hitting attractions this day...we will probably only get to the park around 2-3:00.

So, anyone add anything to this day? I haven't been to WDW in over 7 years so I know there will be a lot of "not to miss" stuff.

Now, we have never done AK ever before, so my next step would be to plan for our AK day (with an early PS for breakfastosaurus then dinner at Boma). Any help??

Not at MK but at POR, DO NOT MISS BOB at the piano bar he is a riot! And approriate for all ages!

At MK I would say make sure you do Mickey's Philharmagic! It is a great new attraction, and Buzz is newer too and a must do!!

I think what you have for your first day is enough. Traveling is tiring and you have pretty easy going light plans for day one. I wouldn't change a thing. You don't have to have a step by step plan....just a skelton plan with some ideas of things you want to do. A plan is essential, but nobody has to stick to them right? Can't wait to read the rest.

AK can be a really good time. Its a great idea to start the day there with the character breakfast at Resturantosaurus.

Don't miss The Lion King show!

For a "different" type of quick lunch or a snack try the Flame tree bbq.

for AK, after breakfast at breakfastosaurus, head on over to Africa and take the Kilamanjaro Safari. that is a definite must see. take a visit to Camp Minnie-Mickey and see The Festival of the Lion King, meet some characters, and see the Pocahantos show. that show is not a must see but it's cute for Kelsey. it'll also get you out of the sun for a few minutes if it's hot out. definitely try to see Mickey's Jamming Jungle Parade. kids love parades. you'll see some amazing floats and a lot of familiar faces. check out all the animals in the oasis and around the Tree of Life. take a visit to Dinoland U.S.A. there's a boneyard for the little one to play in. not an actual boneyard of course but it's like an archeological (sp?) dig site and it'll be fun for the kids.

don't take the little one to see It's Tough to Be A Bug. it's a little intense and will probably scare kelsey. based on your comment about taking kelsey for a first haircut, she must be pretty young. It's Tough to be a Bug will scare her. i'm 23 years old and that show scares me!

Thank you SOO much for the info...sounds really great to me. Kelsey is going to be a few weeks shy of two when we go, but she is so different than other two year olds, she isn't scared of anything. She loves big rides and characters (we took her to sesame place in June to test her out before this trip to WDW). The thing is, she loves bugs! I may or may not try to see it's tough to be a bug, but if we do try it, and she seems even slighty scared, I'm totally going to take her out. I am definately not one of those parents who "do or die.." If she likes it, great...if not, there is plenty of other things to see!
