Shortcuts around the world

I'm getting very excited about our trip! Just a month away! Can you all share any tips you have about getting around the parks, any shortcuts? Like, if we are at Splash Mountain and want to go to Space Mountain, whats the quickest or easiest way to go?

Re: Shortcuts around the world

Well, it's a fair distance no matter how you go. We always head through FrontierLand, using the walkway right by the river - you avoid the crowds that way, through Liberty Sq., Fantasy Land (you can walk through Fantasy Land or take the quiet little path by the Castle - I really don't know which would be faster, but the path by the Castle is prettier and quieter) and into TomorrowLand. I don't know if it's fastest - but it's the way we always go.

Re: Shortcuts around the world

Thanks LLama, nicer is just as good as quicker! On our last trip I felt like there might have been a better way to get from point a to point b several times so I thought I would ask the experts!

Re: Shortcuts around the world

There's always the shortcut between Frontierland and Adventureland, right by the Tiki Room. Just cut past Aladdin's Carpets and through a long archway and you're in Frontierland--cuts off a few minutes. And don't forget the "hidden" walkway between Tomorrowland and Toon Town that runs around the back of the park (if you're doing MNSSHP, there's always lots of candy to be found on this walkway; and CMs are pretty liberal with it as so few people venture back there).

For other parks I can't really help you. I always get hopelessly turned around (read: lost) in Epcot's Future World, and I tend to wander aimlessly around MGM and AK, too (good thing I don't go during peak times--I'd never get on any rides at all!).

There isn't really a shortcut between the two..... Unfortunatly. You have heard the best routes really.

Re: Shortcuts around the world

I don't want to use shortcuts, I would be afraid to miss something. I have to see all there is to see, specially at MK. I wish I could live in the fort on Tom Sawyer Island.

When we smell cookies wafting up from the fort, we'll know you've moved in Dopey.

Re: Shortcuts around the world

When we get off Splash and want to go to Space we always take the train. Not shorter, but easier on the feet, and I hate crowds. Then We always use the path, usually deserted, behind the speedway when we get off the train to go to Space Mtn.
At Epcot we take the friendship Boats from Mexico to Morocco, and we do the back side of WS first, avoiding all the crowds that are coming around the lagoon either clockwaise or counter-clockwise, finish that side and take the boat back from Germany to Canada, then do UK, Can., Mexico and Norway., By then it's time to get a seat in China for the fireworks. We make use of the International Gateway whenever possible, and take the boat to MGM rather than go back to the front of Epcot to take a bus to MGM. Are they still calling it MGM or is it just Disney Studios now??? Well you know what I mean.
