Upgrading Childs ticket to Adult ticket

We will have a spare unused 5 day childs ticket after our next trip to WDW in December. Can you upgrade it to an Adults ticket at a future date and if so has anyone do this or any idea what the likely cost would be?

Our DD will be 10 when we go again in 2006 and I'm not sure that we could say that she was still 9 then as she is fairly tall for her age.

I'm sure someone out there will have an answer for us.

When we bought our tickets for the kids (9yo twins) a couple of years ago, the CM told us that it was OK if the kids turned 10 before we used our tickets. She told us to hang on to the receipt to show date of purchase and we would not have to upgrade. Hopefully the rules are still the same and you won't have to spend money to upgrade.

We just brought our 10 yr old DS with us earlier this month. I had one day left on one pass and two days on another. He's really big for his age, so I was worried as well. But he put the tickets in and walked through and no one even looked twice at him.

I say just go for it and never look back. They're really not big on questioning people at WDW. You'll be fine using the tickets the way they are.

Thanks, I might just risk it and if they say anything I could always then upgrade.

I got this from Deb's site:

If you have a brand new, completely unused child's ticket that you bought years ago you will only be able to apply a dollar value equal to the price you paid for that ticket towards any new adult ticket that exceeds the price of the old one. This is your only option with an unused child ticket.

I am sure no one will question your 10 year old using a child ticket--a teenager yes but not a 10 year old.
