Vader at MGM...

I was at MGM a couple of weeks ago, and while perusing things at Tatooine Traders with a friend, out of the corner of my eye, I thought I spotted a gathering of people, so I looked up, and saw Darth Vader signing autographs. My friend who was with me is a major Vader fan, so I said, "Look", and as he fumbled for his camera, Vader stormed out!
As we left, we saw the Dark Lord standing briefly outside, sign a few more autographs and then storm away again.
Now, I know he makes appearances at Star Wars Weekends, but this was the first week of August!! Why was Vader there? Does he normally do this? And if so, why did he storm off so quickly?

Anyone else spot characters that "weren't" supposed to be there?? I asked a CM at the store and she said they only appear during SW Weekends... But we SAW him!!!

Tony that is so cool! I, too, have never seen Vader at WDW except for SWW!!! Wow!

The only character I have seen out of their element was Pinocchio was at Chef Mickey's while we ate dinner there in 2004.

Wow!! Darth Vader there in August?? I didn't even see him when I went to SWW in 2000!

Just Darth Maul.

I wonder why he was out?? Maybe they had to make a substitution for another character who was supposed to make an appearance. I bet Darth was way more popular than whoever else was supposed to be out, though, so maybe he got stuck out there for longer than expected.

I saw characters in "odd" places a few times at DL...usually when there was a mishap when another character went on break (a costume malfunction or something). They'd have to fit a free CM into whatever costume fit and send them out there quick to keep the masses at bay.

You prolly won't find Vader around again, but YOU WILL find Stormtroopers hanging around Star Tours these days!

I have run into vader a few times near the star tours ride. I got the pleasure of having him grab me by my face when he was walking by too...lol

Yes, the force was strong with me that day. He tried to get me to go to the dark side with him, but my DD and I had a ps for momma's so I had to decline..lol

Supposedly, Vader, Luke, Leia, Han, and Stormtroopers are there on a fairly regular basis. At least, that's what I've been told by several people.
