Line-ups and strollers
I have heard that strollers are not allowed in the ride lines. If this is the case, do you have to park the stroller and hang onto the child for the duration of the line-up? Can be quite inconvenient if a long line-up.
If you have a bag that you don't want to take on a ride ( clothes, camera, lunch etc ), is there a safe place to leave it? Thanks Goofy1 |

We went to 6 different parks, and left our bags with the stroller at each ride with no problem, there are so many strollers out there no one messes with them. I would take cameras or valuables with you. Now for the line durations, on a Child Swap ride this is no problem, but on something like Pooh or Pan, waiting in line gets quite irritating for both you and the child, sorry... just use FastPass to your advantage as much as possible. Scope out and understand which lines get longer faster if possible and use the info to your advantage.

Ditto above! No strollers in line!! We cheated though (lol) my dad was in a wheel chair and he was permitted in line and could hold our 32lb toddler. Without a "handy Pap Pap" you're stuck holding/containing your child. Can get long and heavy! Choose your line carefully!! As for your bag, there is no "safe" place to leave it. We had our own personal "expensive" stroller and no one bothered that but I didn't leave my bag with it. I'm from a large city and leaving a bag unattended goes against everything I was taught!! I used a backpack and tried to keep the load light. In fact it got lighter and lighter everyday as I chose to leave more items behind at the hotel as the week wore on. (I'll have to explain to the tykes when they're 20yrs old and emotionally scarred why there's no video from days 3-5... Because the darn bag just got tooo heavy!) We also tended to leave the stoller at one location and do all the rides in one area at a time rather that keep loading/unloading if the rides were close. It is a pain but thats life.....
Best of luck to you and have fun!!!:)

you can rent lockers at each of the parks to store stuff in. unfortunately this isn't convienent if you just want to go on the river rapids or rockin roller coaster. I think it's the coaster that says you should put your things in a locker -- I remember reading that for a ride and thinking that I was glad I wasn't planning to go on that one! I *think* the river rapids my have a place in the center of the raft you can store things at, but don't quote me on it! I WAS, however, very annoyed to find that on Splash Mountain you don't get wet you get DRENCHED!! Watches, cameras, etc. should be left with non-riders for this one!
As the people who responded above said, strollers are left parked in large groups outside rides, and apparently no one bothers them. People DO leave their bags in them, so you can always be brave and try it. (There's a name sign you get to put on the stroller so that you can tell yours from everyone else's, btw.)

Don't forget, though, that on some rides,Disney Cast Members will move strollers from one area to the other. Also, for those of you who bring their own wheelchairs,I have heard that Disney will NOT move them for you. They are afraid of lawsuits.

Thanks to all for the insight.
Knowing the rules now will allow us to come up with a tag-team game plan. Someone can stay in line while mom strolls junior around until the last minute. As for carrying around rain gear, lunches etc, sounds like either a back pack or a locker is the best bet. Even better I guess is PACK LIGHT ! Goofy1 Not long to go now ... time is flying by. :D |

Careful! At many rides you can't "tag team". Its almost impossible to let one person walk around and then jump into line at the last minute. (Also "illegal" I think). Many rides move into preboarding staging areas that are inside (yet not "on" the ride) and you need to be with your party as you move through these stages. Like I said before, pick your lines carefully! You all have to wait together! Have fun!!!

GREAT THREAD! We are taking my 2 year old for the first time WDW in March. We went to Sea World last year and we rented on their strollers (will never do again) that had to be the most uncomfortable stroller ever for a baby! We didn't want to take our big expensive stroller so we have bought a cheaper, lighter weight one for the WDW trip. If someone happens to accidently take it, it want be a big deal because it only cost $12. I've never heard on any one having any trouble with missing strollers. We did take our big one to Six Flags in the spring no one ever touched it, or our camera which we forgot about a couple of times!!;) DEFINETLY mark your stroller though because it is unbelievable how many look alike!!
