Seriously though should there be more perks for resort guests? Yes
Do they get a lot now? Honestly I don't know...the free parking and transportation thing I think kinda sucks. I mean stayin on prop I only use the transportation, so whats the point of free parking? (well aside from cast parking at AK, which is way better than the bus stops!-wait only cast parks there anyways, nevermind) I think the perks could be revised, maybe 10% off food and bev when you show your resort key? The EMH are a great incentive, but to me its only worth it at night when you get 3 extra hours.
As for AP holders they get good perks right now, although I can understand those being too close and not wantin to stay the night but thats the trade off.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I've only been to Disneyland, but yeah, I think Annual Passport holders should get more perks.
If it's people who are just getting the AP for the perks, ie they buy an AP instead of a Hopper, I would think the park would welcome the extra cash.
I intend to buy an AP instead of a hopper so I can stay for a week and get the freebies and 10% offs and what not and I would welcome ANY AND ALL perks that come with it.
I mean I am paying 50 bucks more, for the same amount of time most likely.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I'm of two minds on this. One one hand, I think all park guests should be treated equally - on the other hand, you're supporting the Disney corporation by staying at their resorts, so an acknowledgement would be nice.

As DVC members I certainly would welcome a few perks. The way I look at it is, we've invested our money with Disney. It would be nice if Disney acknowledged our investment - but the perks few and far between.

Whoa, nelly. You read w-a-a-a-y too much into my post. I write a lot of posts tongue-in-cheek (or foot-in-mouth). So if in doubt, assume I'm joking. (Unless, it's about that resort snob, EJ. She suddenly starts hob nobbing with models and now she thinks WDW was built for her sole enjoyment.)

Anyway, a few other things:

1. Please don't kick puppies. It's not nice.

2. I don't go to "mines." I go to "caves."

3. The "I don't care" comment was directed at UO, not at you. I meant no offense.

4. I get paid weekly, rather than every two weeks.

5. EJ knows I her. (which explains the restraining order!)

6. I would have no problem with AP holders getting EMH privileges.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I totally agree with Pumouse.

Ok, I agree that AP holders have a lot of benefits and thats great, and yes guests who do stay on site should get more perks at the parks than guests not staying on site, because not only are you supporting the Disney Company, but spending more money But, as far as when you are at the park ALL GUESTS ARE CREATED EQUAL!! During normal park hours.

I don't think it would be fare to vacationers who don't visit often if DLR had EMH and AP holders were included as well. I can go back lots of time for gosh sake, they are only there for a week or two(most of the time). I think keeping EMH a resort guest only benefit is a great idea!

Gosh just read my post...maybe I came across too strong I'm sorry if I offended anyone
In re-tinking about EMH...maybe if DLR did have it...I, as an AP holder would probably want the ability to join in the fun. Hmmm....I guess everyone can disregard my original comment.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I stay at a Disney resort because it is part of the Disney experience. I look for and often get 'perks', and there is always the free transportation. Now about that CM shoulder carry mentioned...at my age, I find that to be a great idea, a wonderful perk, but a bit uncomfortable....hehehe
