If you'd just pay your Chit Chat dues, I'd send you the card.

I could browse World Showcase and go to the Land when my FP was due. Just an idea!

but that's exactly one of the proposed changes would allow you to do. My understanding is that they don't intend to take anything away from the outside guests, just make some things a little easier for the inside guests.

Humph, make that 18% gratuity, at least it is for us Cm's so kinda makes any dining discounts pointless....

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

Yes they should do more. I know we spend $6000 plus on each visit.
Possibly, a few free deserts at sit down restaurants, a small gift
bag for children, or maybe a free group-family photo. It doesn't
have to be extravagant, just a little something extra.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I've decided after this conversation, and ones that have come before...that Unlimited Fastpasses at WDW...for anyone, whether it be off-site or on-site guests (or both)...would be kind of a mess. No thanks.

But I like some of the other proposed perks!! That call-in FP idea is way cool!!

What about all the free soaps, towels, pillows, & comforters you get to take home at the end of your trip?

I even got a free TV last trip. I mean, some places actually bolt those down as though they don't want you to take them? But not good ol' Disney!

Last time, I got a free alarm clock! Now every morning I think I'm waking up at Disney!

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I don't recall posting in this thread before, so here goes. Disney does quite a bit for it's resort guests that other parks aren't even set up for (Cedar Point, this means YOU!). A mass transit system that any city would be proud of. The ability to charge back to your room. You can have your packages delivered from parks and DTD the next day and if you are a concierge guest at one of the deluxe resorts, your packages will be on your bed by the afternoon. We've talked about the Universal style fast pass in another thread, and I believe it was Cavey who rightly pointed out that there are far more potential guests in the Disney resorts (the values alone have more rooms than Universal's three) and this COULD overwhelm the system. (emphasis is mine) I really don't know what else Disney can or even should do for resort guests over what they do now. What would be nice is if they offered AP holders merch and dining discounts like Universal does. Disney only offers 10% at World of Disney. Universal offers either 15 or 20% to AP holders on all merchandise in all shops and 15% discount on all dining (except Emeril's). Disney does offer dining discounts through the AP, but only 10%. They do also have the Disney Dining experience, but that does cost extra money.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I agree with what's been said above. The concept of the FP depends upon there being a limited number of FP tickets for each time period. Granting a general FP to all WDW resort guests would totally defeat the purpose and not result in any significant time-savings for most people.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I think that fp should be only for guests- as a perk for staying onsite but that could be just because I only stay onsite- in fact when we first used them we believed that it was just for onsite guests as we had to use our room key to get them.... but these large groups that kill a whole days fp on one ride for everyone else? that irritates me!

They reportedly copyrighted the possibility of adding those extra FP features. No word on when such a thing would materialize. I had an idea that was going to be part of that big announcement last month.

Re: Should WDW Do More For Resort Guests?

I like the idea of AP holders getting to share the EMH perk. I admit it's because, since we're moving down to Florida in a couple of weeks, we'll be annual passholders and EMH is a perk I'd like to keep.

Of course there's another AP perk that nobody's mentioned. AP's get to try out new rides before they officially open.
