MVMCP Itinerary

We are at Disney, and I promised I would post the itinerary for the night. We went on December 1:

The MVMCP Itinerary is this:

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade - 8:15 & 10:40

Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks - 9:15

Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas - 7:15, 8:15, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 (at the Galaxy Palace Theatre in Tomorrowland)

Celebrate the Season - 7:00, 9:30, and 12:00 am (Castle Forecourt Stage)

Wild West Christmas Show - 7:30, 8:40, 10:00 and 11:30 (Diamond Horseshoe Saloon)

"Belle's Enchanted Christmas" - 7:30, 8:40, 9:30, 10:20, and 11:10 (Fantasyland Pavillion)

"Santa's Snowflake Special" - Storyteller 7:25, 8:05, 8:55, 10:15 and 11:10 (Fairytale Garden)

Lake Howell Holiday Brass - 6:45, 7:45 and 9:00 (Tomorrowland Stage)

It was packed. We did managed to get our pictures done, and they gave us a 2" button with the MVMCP graphic on it. Very pretty, but very large. Cookies and cocoa abounded, but the lines were extremely long. It wasn't sold out, but close to it - there were long lines all over. We had a blast, and ended up staying right until the very end, even though I didn't expect to. There were MVMCP pins for sale, but I forgot to look for them until it was too late and they were sold out for the evening.

There is also a video/dvd for sale of the evenings events for $19.95 that you can buy anytime. Beats looking over the heads of the goofy Christmas hat they are selling right now. :p

Off to Blizzard Beach. DD and I picked up a cold and we are hacking and deaf, but we will succeed!! :D

Pictures posted when I get a moment. The parade ones are fab!!

Mickeymac,

Going to the MVMCP on the 20th.
I have a cold right now so hope it is gone by then.
Somewhat prepared for the big line-ups but how much can you actually prepare for that! Grin and bear it.

Hope you get over the cold soon. 'Tis the season.

I am so jealous! We did the MVMCP last year and it was so much fun!
I wanted to go this year but schedules didn't allow so we went in September instead.
Have an amazing trip!

Thank you Mickey Mac!!!
That really helps to be able to plan before hand.

Also, I was glad to hear you were going to Blizard Beach, that must mean the weather is warm? I've been checking on the weather channel, and it's been saying high 60's? I'm hoping with the humidity it's warmer?:D Anything will beat 9 degrees, which it was yesterday when I arrived at work!!!

I hope you've kicked your cold and are already feeling better

:)

I just got back from WDW last night. I am at work today and am having terrible withdrawals!

I made my first visit to the MVMCP on Dec. 3. It was great. Unlike the posted report, there was noone there on Tuesday. The longest line was at Splash Mountain and it was only about 5 minutes. There were signs at the Transportation and Ticket (TTC) that tickets were still available for the evening.

I didn't watch much of the shows but did watch the Brass band. There were outstanding. The parade was cute and entertaining. I never did get around to the hot chocolat even though it was certainly cold enough for it. I was however, the first one in line at Casey's for a hot dog. There is nothing like sitting out in the cold, under an umbrella, eating a hot dog, and looking at the Castle with all of its magnificent colors.

This certainly is the way to see Magic Kingdom and get to ride the rides.

The snow on Main Street was magical!

:) :angel :)

I went to Mickey's Christmas Party Sunday (Just a few hours ago)! It was packed, and felt as if everyone stayed until the very end.

The soap snow was very neat! It falls all over main street...very impressive! My kids loved it!

Here is a tip!
The parade is twice. If your night runs the same, the 8:15pm one starts in Frontierland and ends at the beginning of Main Street, however the 10:40pm one starts at the beginning of Main Street and ends at Frontierland (meaning the first time slot goes one way, and the next one the other way).
My crew went to see the 10:30pm show of Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas (behind Buzz Lightyear's ride) and then ran over to catch the parade, but we got the end of it because I didn't consider it was going the other way! LOL. Oh well, what we did see was neat.

The cookies are sugar cookies with sprinkles. I had in my mind they would be chocolate chip..(I have no idea why!). You can get lids for the hot chocolate but I didn't see any straws.
So bring your own straws if you want them. And although I think you can eat all your want (I had two cookies and 3 cups of hot chocolate), there are only two stations to get the "goodies".

Bring a watch! Somehow I ended up on It's a Small World and missed the fireworks...completely. LOL!

Bring a camera! There were lots of characters out for pictures.

I got to sneak away and go on Alien Encounter - without my kids. Which is my next tip... Don't... please please =don't= go on Alien Encounter for the FIRST time WITH your kids. PREVIEW IT!! You will not regret it...because your child screaming in shear terror isn't really something you want to experience, and I have yet to be on that ride where there haven't been kids in the room crying uncontrollably. I feel so terrible for them... fortunately tonight, half way through, one dad of two crying kids was able to take them out! I didn't even know you could do that! I think he just pushed the chair up and got out! Super Dad! Hopefully he saved them from having nightmares... I've never and will never take my kids on it, but what a smart guy to realize he could get out of there if he wanted to!

Hope this helps!

This was my first time ever to go to the Christmas party and the only lasting impression I was left with was that it was very "Santa" and I did, noticeably so, feel an absence of anything spiritual. So as nice as it was, I probably won't go again. Not to offend anyone. If you are into Santa, it's definitely the place to be! And I certainly didn't expect anything Christian from Disney. I just didn't realize it wasn't really meaningfully fun for me without it.

Also, I looked at the ceiling a lot. LOL!
I think they should paint the ceiling or cover it or something on a lot of the rides. Like, even in It's a Small World - it's so beautiful down below and then you look at the ceiling.. let's just say, it's not pretty. Where are suggestion boxes?

Sheryl,

I'm a little confused by this statement. Disney has so many people that come through their gates to visit, it is hard to make everyone happy "spiritually" speaking. I too am a Christian and was certainly not offended by the lack of representation. I do, however, get my Christmas fix by attending the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. This tells the story of the birth of Christ in word and song. It is a beautiful presentation.

On the other side of the coin. there is representation for Hanukah and Kwanza, at the American Adventure. You see the blue and white of Hanukah in several places around the parks and resorts.

Perhaps next year, your money would be best spent on a dinner package for the Candlelight Processional. I know that my annual visits to WDW are not complete, nor is my Christmas season started until I visit the Candlelight Processional.

Hi Linda,

I didn't know the candlelight processional was about that or had that. That's great to know!!
I didn't mean to express that I was offended. It was more of just a thought that popped in my mind, that I just went to a Christmas party with nothing of "Christ" in the "Mas". But I didn't mean to imply that I thought Christians should not go or that if they went that was a bad thing. I know that everything is what you make it or don't make it. And I could have easily added things to the night - bring cupcakes and sing a Christmas song to Jesus, or done other things with the kids. More of what I was trying to say was that, for me - because I went strictly to have fun with no thought of actually celebrating Christmas... that even at such a fun place as Walt Disney World - I, instead, ended up missing it... and that's a good thing I think! (for me personally I mean - to realize that!) I'll look into the processional thing... thanks so much for telling me about it!
