Park Tours

I have been surfing the Disney website for a half an hour looking for something I know is there and can't find. I am looking for information on the park tours and specifically the steam train tour. The only place I have found reference to any of the tours is through booking a package.

I am assuming that the tours are open to anyone, not just resort guest, am I correct? Does anyone have details on the train tour? Price? Length?

Thanks for all of your help!

WDWIG has a pretty good description of all the tours, you may want to check there.

WDWIG tour info

The steam train tour in the MK lasts about 2 hours, and the cost is $30 plus tax.

Steam train tour

We just took this tour in Oct. It was great as long as you are interested in train. MY DH was in heaven. It feels like you have a personal tour guide telling you the history of the trains as well as Walts love for Steam trains. The groups are very small so you can ask all the questions you want, and they even let us take pictures backstage at the round house and all the trains, I hope you have as much fun as we did.

BUMP!

I was wondering about the steam train tour, did a search and found this. The link for allears to search on tours was great. I didn't realize there were so many. Unfortunately my guys aren't old enough for some of the other ones they would want so I won't tell them about them.

Re: Park Tours

Here's the page on the Disney Web site that has information about the Steam Trains Backstage Tour. Disney quotes the price at $40 per person with a duration of 3 hours. You would also be required to purchase park admission in addition to the cost of the tour. Hope this is helpful.

Oh, and you're absolutely right about it being difficult to find things on Disney's Web site. They have the worst search engine I've ever seen.

Re: Park Tours

i would personally love to take the 7 hour tour of MK, where you get to go in their underground tunnels. that would be tons of fun to do but it's so pricey. hopefully, rob and i will be able to take this tour. has anyone ever gone on this tour before?

Yes, DW and I have done the 7-hour Backstage Magic Tour. It was easily the most wonderful thing we've ever done at WDW -- maybe the most wonderful thing we've ever done -- period. It was our 2002 Christmas present to each other. In fact, my DC avatar is a photo of the Disney pin given to people who take the Backstage Magic Tour.

Re: Park Tours

I did the 5 - 6 hour Keys to the Kingdom tour. What a fantastic time!!!! We got to ride several attractions as well as see the tunnels and several backstage areas. I completely recommend this tour for anyone who would like to know more about the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney. Everything you learn makes you appreciate the park that much more!!!!!

Hi Everyone. It has been a long while since I have posted but here I am again. My DH and I are again going to Disney.YIPEEE. This time we are going from Dec 15 through Dec 26. One of the things I thought about doing is the Yuletide tour. Has anyone gone on this tour. Is this a must do or not. I probably wont go back at this time of year for many many years so I want to make sure I get as much seasonal stuff in as I can.

Thanks
Brenda
