Journey into Imagination?

I visited EPCOT this last Monday and went to the Imagination Pavilion in hopes of riding the NEW Imagination ride.

However, the closest I got to Figment was on the sign outside the ride. As I approached the doors the CM explained that the ride was down for approximately one week for renovation. I was so disappointed, especially after reading all the good words here about the new ride.

Maybe next time; but then again, it may change again by then!

:(

Hey linda, sorry to hear about your experience. I hate going to wdw and having one of my favorite rides closed for renovations, and the worst is not expecting it at all! The good part is you get to plan a new trip to wdw becuase there was a ride you havent been on yet!:p

Linda that really is a bummer! We got to do "Figment" 3 times in October with never a line! But when we were there CoP wasn't open so now we can't wait 'til August just so we can do that one! I guess being optimistic it just gives us something to look forward to.

At leat you have company. I went last week, and was there while Figment was closed ... after having been dying to see him again since 1985. I also had the experience in the past of turning up at the Carousel of Progress to find it closed in Dec with no warning until seeing the sign outside. And that was what I was really looking forward to and showing to my parents (who saw it at the '64 World's Fair). It is REALLY disappointing when you favorite ride(s) aren't running. Especailly after all the trouble and expense of going to Disney. (There is a happy conclusion to part of this story though as THIS December my parents and I happened to arrive at the MK the only day the Carousel of Progress was running -- we all figured it would not be running during our trip. It's REALLY great to walk up to a ride you think is closed and find a sign on it saying it will be running from 11-5. We rode three times! :) )

What? WHY?

What on earth or should I say Why on earth would Disney open and close a ride on whim???? Is there some reason or they just don't feel like that day??

I sure don't feel coming to work everyday but I sure have to! :hmmm

Maybe I should start working when I want to!!

I just don't understand, this upsets me thinking these rides may or not be running when I go in March!! :(

Actually, JIYI was closed for a scheduled one week rehab. It should now be back open. They were just fixing some glitches with the new ride.

just got back two days ago

My family and I just got back from Epcot the first Six days of the trip they said Figment was closed for good, then on our last day it was open. They should've kept it closed Figment is a BORING ride, there was point to it. It doesn't have the Disney Magic.

figment

:) I am a Figment fan. That was always my daughter's fav. when she was little. I would hate to see them close it. I was very happy when they brought Figment back.
Mickey, Keep up all the good work on this site.

My whole family loves the new figment ride (not like the original!) but the kids LOVED the "jackpot" skunk......whew....!
and they also loved the upside down toliet (that actually dripped on my son's head and time or two!!) My favorite part is the butterfly....too cool!!

Glad it's back and we love it!

Well, after the initial reaction of Great, this is much better than ver. 2, I soon realized I had no desire to ride again, the new "One Little Spark" did not stick in my head and the entire day we were at EPCOT you could either walk onto the ride if you wanted to, or only wait about two minutes to get on, so it is better than ver. 2 but still one of the worst rides at EPCOT right now. So sad, cause JII ver. 1 was one of the best and much much longer. So it seems that even though Figment is great and returned, it was too little too late and this stinko ride is more than just the effects of the Skunk in the Smell Lab. :p
