Hurricane Wilma and Walt Disney World
The Walt Disney World Resort continues to monitor Hurricane Wilma. According to the latest projections from the National Weather Service, there is still considerable uncertainty surrounding the specific timing and path of the storm.
All Disney-owned and -operated hotels and theme parks are open and fully operational. A temporary cancellation and "No Show" policy has been adopted for guests who have booked reservations through Walt Disney World, or the Walt Disney Travel Company (guests that have booked through another tour operator should contact that company for its specific cancellation policy). "No Show" penalties will be waived for any guest arrivals between Friday, Oct. 21, and Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005. Guests arriving between those dates can call the Disney Reservations Center at 1-800-647-7900 to have an existing reservation rebooked for another time period and to apply the existing deposit/payment, or cancel and have the deposit/payment fully refunded. Guests who have booked through a travel agent should contact their agent. The standard deposit and cancellation policy will apply to guests who cancel on or after Monday, Oct. 24, 2005. |

Re: Hurricane Wilma and Walt Disney World
Noone knows what is going on around here in Orlando. This morning, I have heard three different stories on the radio about what is going on. I wish they would stop until they know exactly what is going to happen. I know from last year, that Disney and Universal both have "ride it out" crews that will assess the damage as soon as the storm passes. I remember last year that Universal was opened back up quickly.

Re: Hurricane Wilma and Walt Disney World
It sounds like they (WDW) anticipate this mess to be over with come Monday. That is the best news I have had today. Everything should be done and over with by Wednesday then....thank goodness. I hope all the weekend travelers go as planned and have the most magical trip ever. Thanks for this update mickey....great news!

Re: Hurricane Wilma and Walt Disney World
We're headed out Sunday but flying into Tampa and staying there for the night then off to WDW Monday AM. At least we're hoping that we're flying into Tampa.
