2 yr old girl
My daughter loved "Dumbo, Teacups, Small world" in MK. In MGM she loved "Fantasmic, 3-D Muppets". Epcot "Figment" (I hated Figment). In AK "Tricera Top spin".

My daughter was almost 2 1/2 when we went in June. Her top picks were:
MK: Aladdins Magic Carpet Ride Buzz Lightyears Spin Peter Pan's Flight TTA MGM: Playhouse Disney Live Voyage of the Little Mermaid EPCOT: FW) Journey Into Your Imagination Food Rocks Show WS) Norway's Maelstrom AK: #1) Kilimangaro Safari One of her other favorites was the monorail. Here we are 6 months later and she still remembers everything!

Teacups are still number one with my 3 year old as they were when she was 2. Playhouse Disney was also a biggie.

Thank you Trish!
trish,
I swear we are going on identical trips! I'm so glad you asked this question because my DD will be 2 1/2 when we go in March and I was wondering the same thing. Weird huh? Thanks again!:D |

My daughter turned 3 in October. She has been going to WDW since she was 6 months old. After we spent her second birthday at the Magic Kingdom, she talked non-stop about the Teacups, "Merry-go-round" as she called it, and Dumbo. When we went last summer she was 2 1/2 and added the "rollarcoaster" to her list (Barnstormer).
She is so excited to be able to go on all these rides and more in less than a week! (Mommy, too):)

When we went in 1997, we were there for our son's (now 7), two year old birthday.
I looked back through my journal from that trip and here is what I found (My goodness, I'm only 30, yet I can't remember things from when I was 25!!! My memory left the building when I had my second child!! heehee!!) His favorites were: MONORAIL Peter Pan WDW Railroad Grand Prix Raceway It's a small World Mexico's boat ride He DID NOT like the Characters (ANY OF THEM!!) All of our pictures of him with any Characters he's balling!!! Funny to look back on, but not so funny at the time! On that trip he got a "lollipop" spinning buzz lightyear, and we bought sugarless lollipops for it. It kept him busy during "trying times" like waiting in long lines..... :angel

They are hard to find!! Bring them from home....most candy stores have them. If you want to use a spinner, they require the "stick" kind, not the kind with the loop at the bottom.

Just returned with a just turned 2 and 3 yr-old boys. They LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED (need I say more) the Buzz Lightyear ride in MK!!!
Younger one also liked, Small World, Peter Pan, Play House Disney, Space Ship Earth, Fantasmic (although your response may be different), walking through Star Tours (too short to ride but loved the "pre-show" and store at the end), any parade or fireworks, meeting characters, and lunch at the Sci-Fi dinner theater. He rode Haunted Mansion (older one refused) not sure he liked it or not at the time but brags about it now big time!!!

I must admit I was nervous about the behavior of my 2yr-old on the flight. But, luckily everything worked out swell. It was a short flight, under 2 hrs and he sat in his car seat. He knows when he's in the "seat" he has to sit (very good car traveler). My 3yr-old is very big (almost 50lbs) so he didn't need a car seat and he is very mild mannered and sat well. We didn't have any ear problems, although I suspect my 3-yr was having trouble hearing upon landing. He kept saying that "Disney World talks funny," in the airport.
Take lots of snacks and drinks -- I took candy and things they usually don't get -- fruit juice, lolly's, anything in a "cool" package. I also wrapped small toys from the dollar store and only doled them out when absolutely necessary. I took five per kid and come home with 2 each still wrapped. (beware airport security can [and did] unwrap packages). Also, Crayola makes markers that only draw on special paper. We found these good because there was no chance of marking up a seat or someone or something not markable. Also, try to prepare them as much as you can as to what will happen. EX: we're going to walk down a big tunnel, we'll sit in special seats, the lady will tell us about our seatbelts. Our only problem was when the little one got scared when we first took our seats and started to panic in a new environment. I thought he'd scream the whole trip but I was able to calm him with his blankie, a lollipop, and a silly game and he was asleep on take off!!! In fact, we had such a good time and they did so well on the plane, we are probably heading to San Diego (cross country!!) this spring!! Best of luck to you... It will all work out!!!
