HI All~
How many pins shall I take to trade at the parks? Just wondering so I can prepare myself. I really dont want to buy any in the park that I will trade. I would rather buy off Ebay,so what do you think is a good number per person? Thanks

When i went nobody even aksed me to trade only to complement on my great collection, bring enough to fit on your lanyard, ones you dont want to keep, when i went i brought my best ones just to show off! lol

Doesnt the Cast Members have to trade with you?? See i'm new to this so Im a bit confused. I traded at World of Disney in NYC a few weeks ago and just went up to the Cm and asked if I can trade and they were ok with that. So I guess thats what you do in WDW.

a cast member MUST trade w/ a guest its a rule, + there pins are usually ****ty anyways,lol

CM's will trade with you. And here is a little tip: If you are in the parks EARLY, go looking for CM's to trade with--they usually 'refresh' their lanyards before the workday and sometimes they are wearing the coveted Cast Member Only pins! Also, be on the alert for little blue boxes that have 2 pins for $12 (I think)--they are great for trading! (If you can part with them--LOL!)

I usually take 10 pins that i am willing to trade, it is not important to trade them as i now am pin specific (donald). I just like trading, and talking with other traders. the best trade i made was with a 5 yo girl, she diddnt have anything i wanted, but i had a minnie she wanted, the smile and thank you was priceless. my advice trade.

I buy tons of them for trading. I get them as I see them on clearance and grab them when I get the chance. She is bringing 12 pins to trade with. They will change over multiple times and she will by the end of the trip not have a "trader" left...lol She puts the ones she is collecting in a pin book and usually tries to make trades for ones she is collecting. I do buy some traders in the park or pins that end up being traders..lol

Thanks guys for the great info!!! For those of you who live in NJ or have a shoprite, the batteries that have the free Disney pin are on sale this week for $2.69 a pack. I went yesterday and bought 20 packs. My DD and I were searching the whole store cause they were all mixed up with the rest. We found a total of 30 packs all together so I may go back today and get the other 10. I didnt get yesterday because my DH about to flip when he seen how many packs I came ut to the truck with in the first place and also my DD couldnt carry anymore bags!!! LOL.... SO he is at work and what he doesnt know wont kill him !!!!!! LOL

Tell him you can NEVER have to many AA batteries. Especially with the holiday season coming.

LOL LOL LOL LOL............ Tried that already!!!! You know the blue "lunchbox" that you can get in Disney that comes with a juice box candy rasins and some other stuff??? Well we have 2 of them filled to the gills with batteries... They are all nice and neatly lines up in the case... I wanted to pm you and tell you if you needed any go to glassboro shoprite.......

I had a Mike on my Disney hat this weekend as I cut the grass. A tree branch caught it fling it somewhere I couldn't determine.
I am planning on this hat becoming covered with pins. (So it will hurt more when I whack one the children with it.)

That is soooooooooo funny i couldnt stop LOL!!!!!! That is a great idea!!! Maybe I can keep my kids in check on day 2 when they start cryin that it is too hot or too cold or that they miss the dog and want to go home!! What kid wants to go home when they are at WDW?? Crazy huh!!! I need to buy a hat fill with millions and millions of pins then tell my kids to knock it off. LOL LOl

We take our lanyards with as many pins as they can fit and trade, trade and trade. There are "rules" as far as trading goes(don't touch other's pins, equal value trading, etc.) and they have a info pamphlet telling traders all of the info. The best spot we found was at Downtown Disney at the pin store there for hard to find pins and yes, CM's do have to trade and we got some really cool ones from Euro and also some from DL too.

I take 1 lanyard for each of us and one snack bag of refills. I used all off the lanyards and 1/2 of the bag. Of course I kept my DC pin on my hat so every knew it was not for trade.

I bought some on clearance online this summer for the purpose of surprising my girls during the trip with them, assuming they'd use them for trading. They both kept them all! Last trip we traded alot, this trip not at all. Everybody's different.
