Can I trade in old tickets??

I need a child's ticket for my January trip. I have several old tickets that have a day or two left on them. (They are on no expiration tickets). I think that some of them may have a "plus" option left on them rather than a regular day. Can I take all these old tickets to the guest service window and trade them in toward a new ticket for DD????

If they have a black strip on them then you can take them directly to the gate and use it. If not, take it to guest services and exchange it out.

Re: Can I trade in old tickets??

It has been our experience (twice) that, the easiest thing to do is take all passes and go to the guest services desk at your resort shortly after you check in, they will run the tickets through and you can find out exactly what is left on each pass. You can then determine what kind of pass you need to purchase if any. We were able to purchase our tickets based on using up what was left over on old passes. We only needed to purchase a few days for one child and a few days for one adult and used up all of the days left on the old passes. Bring a sharpie marker with you so you can mark exactly what is left on each pass.

I thought they could only run them through at the parks. My problem is I don't know what is left on each pass. Can I then buy the pass right at the hotel?? or do I need to go to a ticket window at one of the parks???

I'm pretty sure you can do it at the resort. Each resort has a Guest Services, as well as there being one in DTD. You don't have to be at a park, just at a Guest Relations location, and I think you can buy tickets there as well as checking on old tickets.

You can go to the resort guest services, you don't need to go to a park. The day we checked in I sent DH down with all of the passes we had, the CM ran each pass through and told us what was on each one, that's why you need a sharpie marker, you should write what's left on each pass, pen doesn't work. The CM then figured out what we needed and we bought the passes, the CM was wonderful.

Re: Can I trade in old tickets??

This thread reminds me... (there are those dots again) When I was in college I was organizing a bunch of old photos and Disney momentos and I found an old ticket with one day left. It must have been from the early 90's when they still used a "hole punch" to punch off the number of days. It even had a little picture of me on it. To make a long story short, the next time we went to Disney I brought it to see if they would let me use it... sure enough, they did!! They did let me keep the ticket after they punched it again as a momento.

Re: Can I trade in old tickets??

On our last trip we wanted to apply old PH tickets to new MYW tickets (and add a few days). We checked into our resort, but we were hungry, so I brought the tickets with me as we left for DTD to get dinner. My plan was to stop at Guest Services at the resort on our way back to our room, but we passed Guest Services in DTD - there was no one in there, so I told the CM what I was trying to do and she took care of everything - very nice and helpful!

That's like finding money in the pocket of your winter coat when you take it out for the first time at the beginning of the season!
