Re: Filming for WDW Christmas Day Parade

I just found out today that my CM MIL got us tickets for the morning of the 3rd. I'm not 100% sure we're gonna use them though. I'm not sure if I want to waste away a morning of MK waiting for them to tape us pretending to enjoy the WDW Christmas parade...

Just so you're prepared Hog, and for everyone participating. The filming is bound by rules of TV, which means MANY takes could be happening for just one thing, and it CAN be boring. Course, the final product of being on a nationally televised show with MILLIONS of people watching you have fun could remind you of the prize.

Sounds llike such fun, theoretically. But I wouldn't like it too crowded either.

Yea, we watched them film a part of it last year, and that's why we aren't sure if we're gonna actually do it. Last year was my first Christmas at WDW and I was really disappointed when I found out how they filmed the parade. The parts where they film the crowd, at least the parts we saw them film, it was all acting. There was no parade, only a director telling a groupe of people "ok, act happy, act like you're seeing something beautiful," etc. I was heartbroken...

But we did see that it seemed to be very time consuming. We know it would be really cool to see ourselves on the WDW Christmas Parade on Christmas morning, but is it worth losing a day in the parks?

Re: Filming for WDW Christmas Day Parade

I did a commercial once and it took 9 hours for 30 seconds so I'm not sure how long it would take for the Parade but I would be prepared for a long day

I was part of the filming last year. In the show I performed with Mariah Carey, and she had 2 numbers. We did 3 takes of each number, with each take about 5 minutes a piece, with 10 minutes to reset between each take. Also, going down Main Street each unit went about twice, taking about 20 minutes to go down, and 20 minutes to come around and go down again. And this year, EVERY float has to be filmed. They can't use footage from lprevious years b/c Cinderella's castle wasn't decorated for the Happiest Celebration. So this year it's ALL NEW FOOTAGE. NOTHING FROM PREVIOUS YEARS.

OK I think you got the picture. It's a lot of fun and a great honor to be part of this, but I hope you didn't have anything else planned for the rest of the day.

It rocked my college program experience. She was really great to work with.

Yikes! I think we may have to pass on this parade filming after all. I don't think I'd have the patience.

I'll be there on the 2nd. I figure I'd see what it is like. Never done it before. Gotta try everything once right? :-)

To answer your question, you are added to the blopper real. Banned from WDW for life. And forced to endure a public flogging (Most people think the stockades over at Liberty Square are only for show! ).

This is precisely what I was worried about!
