The Buzz Lightyear's Spaceranger Spin refurbishment is scheduled for January 4, 2006 through February 8, 2006. The refurbishment may see the addition of the same on-line interactivity that is currently at the Disneyland version. The current mounted blasters will be replaced with the hand-held blasters they currently have at the other two “Buzz” attractions. Nothing is confirmed, but these are the rumors.

Water Park News

Water park Extra Magic Hours are tentatively set to return on 6 dates in April & May 2006.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

April 13: Morning Extra Magic Hour at Blizzard Beach
April 15: Evening Extra Magic Hours at Typhoon Lagoon
April 20: Morning Extra Magic Hour at Blizzard Beach
April 22: Evening Extra Magic Hours at Typhoon Lagoon
May 25: Morning Extra Magic Hour at Blizzard Beach
May 27: Evening Extra Magic Hours at Typhoon Lagoon

The Characters on Holiday Bus at Epcot’s World Showcase will cease operations November 19th , 2005. The characters will reportedly take up a new temporary residence in the former Pasta Piazza Restaurante location in Future World. This new character location will conduct a 5 month test period, at the end of which; management will reportedly make a determination to keep the Fixed location or go back to the Holiday Bus. The test period will reportedly not effect any of the other Fixed character meet and greet locations spread about World Showcase.

Thanks Francine!! Does this perhaps mean that they intend to continue the EMH for the waterparks for more than just the test period earlier this fall?? Or is this still the test period??

I am not sure if they consider this to be a a part of the test period. You know the drill, right? "Subject to change...."

My guess is that it will be a part of the regular schedule.

That would be excellent. I am really not in the mood for water slides at 10AM especially after a long previous day at the parks. But, if you don't get there early you wait FOREVER in line to ride. Maybe by adding the later nights the crowds will thin a bit and the late afternoon, early evenings will be a good time to go!

This is a disapointment for me, as I'll be there at the end of January. But if it's for the good of the attraction as a whole, than it's worth the sacrifice.

I have to say that I'm excited about the rehab of Buzz. It is in desperate need of some TLC and I'm glad that Disney noticed that. I hope that the ride vehicles are updated to those at Disneyland (hand-held blasters). Too bad that guests will not be able to ride Buzz, but when it reopens it will be better than ever!

I'm glad the ride is getting it's TLC like coasterman said...a definite bummer to those visiting during that time, though :c(

I hope that they add the handheld blasters. We love that ride. Lately it seems as if more and more of the cars are broken.

Noooooo! Not Buzz! That is DS's favorite...and of course rehab is scheduled during our visit. What do you think the chances are they will reopen a few days prior to Feb. 8?

They could have soft openings before the 8th, right? You never know. Be sure to ask at Guest Services at magic Kingdom, when you go there.

Clearly, Disney didn't check here at Disney Central, when they made their plans. What were they thinking?
