3rd Trip

Okay we are getting ready to plan our 3rd trip to Disney... I am actually surprised about how much I have learned about Disney, but never amazed about how much I don't know!

So what is the one thing that surprised you that you did not learn until after multiple trips that you think would be fun to let me in on now?

Re: 3rd Trip

Nice to see you back.

It's funny because I am not sure. I "feel" like I go to Disney in my head so much that I have lost track of the things I have really actually done.

I am going to study up on the Haunted Mansion and look at all the cool stuff in there the next time I ride.

Thats all I can think of for now.

I remember finding out that the barbershop on Main Street was real, and does really cool haircuts...I think that was so exciting to me at the time!

I didn't know either...until I kept seeing little boys (and big ones, too) with cool haircuts and big Mickey Heads on the back of their heads in different colors. With Pixie Dust sprinkled in, of course! Now we take our DS there EVERY trip. He LOVES it!!!

Ron, I can't think of anything right now. I will use my noggin and come up with something for ya...

Re: 3rd Trip

These aren't very AHAish, but two resort area related things surprised me. One is at the Poly, the trail to the back that cuts you through to the Transportation and Ticket Center. The second is near the Boardwalk/Swan area, where you can walk from these hotels to MGM Studios.

Re: 3rd Trip

You probably know these, but...

-You don't have to use fastpasses by their "expire" time. You can save them to use later in the day.
-Staying on site is better than staying off site.
-It's worth the $7 for a fiesta margarita
-Booking an early breakfast PS means you get into the park earlier than everyone else
-If you're the first one in Tinkerbell's Treasures in MK in the morning, you can "wake" Tink up
-Don't forget about the "secret" trail between Toon Town and Tomorrowland at the MK (especially during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party--the biggest handfuls of candy can be found there).
-You can get Moosehead Beer at the stand outside of the Canada pavilion.
-There's a hedge maze in the bowels of the UK pavilion.
-You can get the glow cubes at all of the restaurants in MGM (and most others in WDW, too)
-If you stay until the very end of the night at MK (a half hour or so after the final show of the night) you can see the "kiss goodnight" light show on the castle.

That's all I can think of now. Hopefully some more will hit me tomorrow, because this is a great question and I can't wait to hear/contribute further to the answer!

Re: 3rd Trip

You can ride up front with the operator of the monorail! Try to do it on the TTC to Epcot run as it's the longest. Just ask the CM who is closest to the front of the train while waiting for it to arrive.

Re: 3rd Trip

It took me a couple of trips to make ADRs. I didn't know that you could or how to do it.It took me a few off-site trips to finally make the plunge to onsite and now I'll never, ever stay offsite again. I just found a great shopping website-gardengrocer.com-that will deliver all my snacks, breakfast items, and cases of water right to my room for a $10 fee. Oh, and I found out that TOT and MS both give my DD asthma attacks.
