Anyone subscribe to or use the touring plans??

Hello! I was just reading through the touring plans website and a lot of it looks like what is in the unofficial guide. I did like the enhanced touring plans that they offer that are specific to the date you are planning to visit. I am trying to decide whether or not I want to subscribe..it's not that much but I would like to know if anyone else here subscribes or uses their touring plans? If so...are they worth it? Will patiently wait to hear from you!

Thanks!!!

Unless, you have special needs. The touring plans in the Unofficial Guide are probably all you need. (And don't get me started again on why you buy the book and then have to buy the plans.....)

i could never ever ever use a touring plan. I don't like that kind of structure. hmmmmm that explains a lot about me. But i think the ones in the unnoffical guide are pretty good.

We used the UG plans for many years, now we wing it... usually we get in all the traditional stuff and anything new we want to try in the first half of the week, then play it by ear later. But we do use the guide's "how to avoid the crowds" informaiton each and every day!

Re: Anyone subscribe to or use the touring plans??

I use the web site. There are extra options I found to be useful. I mix and match those plans to the schedule I know my family will follow. I.E. - They recommend getting to the park at the opening. I have 5 teenagers, the odds of that happening are the same as the odds of the Eagles winning the Superbowl this year (it won't happen). So I find it useful.

Re: Anyone subscribe to or use the touring plans??

The only time I think the touring plans that you buy are necessary are if you are going during Easter week, spring break, a major holiday or christmas week. Other than that time, I would just use the touring plans in that back of the book as a guide and tweak it to your needs.

Re: Anyone subscribe to or use the touring plans??

Thanks for all of the information. I was wondering about why you have to buy the book and then buy the plans too!! We used the Unofficial last year and it helped us soooo much. My husband couldnt believe that we missed the crowds like we did..so, I am already a fan of touring plans. They do have a couple online that I found very interesting...I also like that you can input the exact dates you will be a specific park and they will tailor it to your trip. I don't know....for 6.95 it might be worth it. I am still thinking about it.....!

I honestly think that if you are getting tailored touring plans for your dates and needs, that it should cost money whether you buy the book or not. I hope you use them. I am interested in hearing how they work out .
