Anyone with experience the first week of June?

So my DD starts school in August,

. So the days of off season travel are over because DH will not go for the taking her out of school. So we are thinking about our next trip and are tentatively looking at the first week of June in 2007. (HOLY COW that is a long time away!

) So does any one have experience during this time? We thought it would be just the beginning of summer so the crowds wouldn't be overflow and it wouldn't be quite as hot as July or August. So let me hear your thoughts!!

Umm, I will just say that any time at WDW is better than not going at all. The last time I went during early June was when I lived in NJ as a kid. I remember it being pretty dang busy and REALLY having to plan out the days so we had the optimum time in the parks getting everything done that was a must. When does DD start school in August? I am a teacher so I am alwayw fighting the crowds too and we foudn that the week of August 19th-26th has been PERFECT. The Florida children have already returned to school, the up north kids are going back the next week so it's been really slow for us. The weather is usually pretty messy but the low attendance made up for it.
Is that time too late for you?

OHHHH! Thank you so much for telling me that. I will AVOID that week. So what about the week before or after?? We are in SC so she will be out the end of May and go back the first week of August.

I can deal with crowds much better than I can the heat and humidity in July and August. I know I'm from the south and should be used to it but I'm not out in it everyday either.

I went in June the first time I ever went to WDW. It was crowded and this was before the days of Fast Pass. It is hot and crowded but if you build breaks into your day and use FP's, things will work out fine. We take a hotel/pool break during the heat of the day 1-4pm. Everyday we have a nice sitdown lunch or dinner(a reservation place, not counter service) and that really helps recharge you and gives you an opportunity to relax and get out of the sun.

We've been to WDW twice during the first week of June. Normally we go during spring break. I *MUCH* prefer spring break... and really the only reason is weather. Crowds are about the same. Gay Days are only a crowd issue on Saturday.

Both of our first week of June trips featured record temps in the upper 90's with max humidity. Just our luck.

Go as soon as you possibly can when your kids finish school. It will still be better weather and crowd wise than July. Can you go the last week of May?

If you need to go in the summer then I agree go as soon as you can. I will say that our first trip was mid-July and we had a wonderful trip! Anytime of year is wonderful - just plan and get to the parks early.

We went this past June 3rd, 4th & 5th... Sunday was our day at MK and even though Gay Days were over there were still alot there on Sunday. I only say that because they were all wearing the official GayDays at MK red shirts.
On saturday we were at MGM and didn't see many people wearing the GayDays shirts, nor did we see them Friday at DTD.
I will say though the parks were crowded, as StarWars Weekend was still going on. So MGM was very crowded...DTD was also very crowded friday night.

As for the weather....HOT and HUMID even at night...I remember my friend Danielle and I took all of the kids to DTD friday night before the hubbies got there and we thought maybe it would cool down at night for some reason (we live in FL we should know better!!

) but it was still very hot even at night....

Sorry I couldn't give you any better news...but that has been our experience this past June 2005...

We are looking at a trip the end of May and first of June this year. I thought it might be a bit cooler and a little less crowded than our usual end of July trips the last few years--darn!

We went last year during the first week in June and had a great time! We even went during Gay Days and, this is sort of sad, we actually planned to go to the same parks on the same days that the "Gay Day's" had planned to go to and the parks were virtually empty except for me dave and the Gay Day's participants...I think a lot of people think the parks will be crowded so they aviod that park--when in actuality they're empty-ish...of course it's just The Dave and myself..and some of the T-Shirts the Gay Days participants are hilarious--but I don't have to explain them to a 5 year old.
But..it's also not terribly hot.

We've been in May and June before and the crowds are managable, and it's a bit hot, but very tolerable. I would go again in June.

We were at WDW the first week of June in 2002, and I found that the crowds were good, and the weather was great. The only busy park was MK, but then again MK is always busy. In fact, at the other parks we hardly used the Fast Pass, because the lines were on average 20 minutes are less. Don't worry about Gay Days, the crowds were good and well behaved. Go and enjoy.

It was crowded and this was before the days of Fast Pass. It is hot and crowded but if you build breaks into your day and use FP's, things will work out fine. We take a hotel/pool break during the heat of the day 1-4pm.
