EMHpm?
Just curious as to everyones expierences with the evening extra magic hours.
I have read that it sometimes seems more crowded, and has longer wait times than during the day. Also, is it best to visit the EMHpm park the morning of, or the day after it's pmEMH? Thanks!!!

Re: EMHpm?
EMH in the evening are always more crowded than amEMH because not everyone gets up early enough to take advantage of those. I have found the evening EMH to be worthwhile, although not many things are open at Epcot in WS, so I really don't know if it is worth it for that park unless you want to ride the headliners over and over. It makes sense to visit the EMHpm park the next morning because presumably it will be less crowded.

Re: EMHpm?
This past summer pm EMH seemed to be pretty crowded, we didn't try to do much during that time so I can't say for sure. Most rides posted 30+ minute waits but we didn't test it to see if it was true. The parks were packed though, and the night we activated my AP the front area of MK was PACKED at 10 pm. I couldn't believe how many people were entering the park, we almost couldn't walk through from the boat dock.

Re: EMHpm?
We love the pmEMH. You can take multiple rides w/out getting off the ride. We sat on Splash mountain 3 times in a row. I have 5 teemagers, so there are not many early days.

At MGM EMHpm you can have a great time--they usually have a major street party with some good tunes for dancing!

Re: EMHpm?
One thing that I've noticed with pm EMH - not every time, but more than a few times - is that the crowd trends a little, um, rowdier. One time I went with my daughter (then 10-ish...this was in the pre-EMH E-ride Nights days), and I was downright uncomfortable. That was the worst, but a few other times I've noticed packs of teenagers/young adults acting rather un-Disneylike.
Last year, I remember that Astro Orbiter had a 30+ minute wait, and Space Mountain was about 20+. BTMRR and Splash Mountain, though, were walk-ons. The waits were MUCH better than they had been... even AO had been running 45+ minutes during the day (which, frankly, I'll never understand). I'd think that it would be best to go to the EMH park the day after. I still think most people pick one park for the day, and I would think the EMH pm park would be very attractive. There are a lot of 'thinks' in those senetences above, so I'm just guessing/using my gut on this one. Bruce

Truly, it was a blast. And because it is Disney, DW and I called it a night early and left the mini-mice there, confident they could return to the nest unscathed.

Re: EMHpm?
We did MK EMH evening in October and it was AWESOME! We walked on Splash Mountain, BTMRR, Jungle Cruise, Carpets and Pirates! Apparently all the crowds were in Tomorrowland. So if you go start with Adventure and Frontier Land and you will find hardly any crowds! We were done with all these rides in less than one hour!

I'm gonna use WDWSpider's eternal Words Of Wisdom here.
It doesn't matter how big the crowds are! Extra hours are STILL extra hours! Even if you get to experience only ONE more ride, you still got that ONE more right you wouldn't of had the opportunity to, otherwise. And that's extra time in the Magic. Free!

Re: EMHpm?
The crowds have always been pretty good for us during EMH..but we usually travel during off peak times.....

Re: EMHpm?
The last time I was in Disney they were "testing" the pm EMH. Maybe because it was in the testing stage but it was not all that crowed to me.

Re: EMHpm?
We found that getting up in the morning and using the EMH was much better than the evening. There were less people aboutand you could walk onto all the rides. As it was the morning people seem to take longer to get into the parks therefore it was quiter for longer.
The problem we found with the evening was that everyone who wasn't staying onsite seem to hang around, making it feel more crowded. The wait times were all 30+ mins.

Re: EMHpm?
We loved the evening EMH. I think having 2-3 hours after the parks close is way better then 1 hour in the morning. Specially for us sleepy heads ..of course we might have been up earlier had we not stayed in the parks so late :) I got a card from FW asking that I fill out a survey about our stay. It asked which hours we used and which did we perfer. I said evening. I hope they keep this up. besides ..the parks are even more beautiful at night :)

Re: EMHpm?
Thanks all!!
Again very, very helpful! I think we are going to give the EMHpm's a try at Epcot on our second night. I figure we can't go wrong since we are staying right next door at BW.
